Let’s talk accessories…
It’s funny because before I got engaged, I barely ever wore jewellery – only the occasional necklace and sometimes earrings when I felt like it. It’s as if I got used to wearing a ring and realised how much I enjoyed accessorising! Now I rarely leave the house without wearing at least one necklace, earrings at all times and of course my wedding rings – how I’ve changed…
As I’ve been wearing so much more jewellery, I’ve quickly built up a wee treasurable collection; from stackables to layered necklaces and rings and cute little studs! I’m also glad that there are more and more jewellery brands creating assortments that stand the test of time and hold their style as well – there’s a load of mid-range options for gals like me who love nice pieces but are probably a little too careless to invest in anything too pricey!
I’ve rounded up a few of my go-to pieces which I think should be in everyones jewellery box…
Lots of Layers
Originally this post was going to dedicated to my love of layered necklaces before I decided to branch out, but I still think they deserve to be first on my list! My latest love is this cute little necklace with a tree of life (or perhaps a shell?) style motif (which I’m wearing here) from H&M, who bring it out the bag every time when it comes to jewellery. I’ve also just added this H&M pearly multi-chain number to my shopping cart, I love how this style just finishes off any outfit with a bit of a low-cut or a V-neck.
A Penchant for Pearls
Pearls just add a simple elegance to any outfit, don’t they? I noticed last time I was in Oliver Bonas that they have such a pretty selection of pearly items in, including this v v cute Freshwater Pearl Ring – what a dreamy find! I’m very much eyeing up the Almeta Freshwater Pearl & Bar Gold Plated Necklace to match.
Modern vintage forever
Anything that will see me through years of wear is a hit with me – and not just in terms of quality either, I love that modern vintage sort of style that lasts through the seasons! I only ever wear gold jewels and a lot of the pieces I have look like they could be second-hand.
Right now, I’m obsessed with this little detachable gold-plated dial cuff from Olivia Burton, which can be clipped on to their watch fronts for a lil extra detailing. I can see them becoming a teeny-tiny addiction of mine…
I also love & Other Stories jewellery selection, they do such timeless pieces like these beaut ripple wave earrings and these adorable sunflower hoops!
I also recently spied the vintage collection of rings over on the Rock N Rose site, they look SO beautiful stacked – especially the ruby hues.
The Choker Chain
A choker chain is another staple for me, you may have noticed that I have a couple that I wear on rotation almost daily! One of them being this dainty Heart Drop Necklace from Rock n Rose which absolutely goes with everything and looks lovely layered with longer necklaces too.
Cult brand Missoma have a great selection also, all their pieces are so simple and delicate – I just love how subtle this Bobble Choker is! Perfect for bardot tops and dresses throughout summer.
Personalised Pieces
I’ve always been a big fan of personalised pieces, so I’m totally on board with the initial necklaces that are taking over at the moment! I have a lovely detailed K necklace from Alex Monroe, but if that ain’t ya thing, Astrid and Miyu do a stunning range of zodiac rings and charm bracelets which are a cute but maybe more subtle way of personalising your accessories!
Now I have my jewellery nailed, it’s probably time I organised and displayed them a little better! Where is your favourite place to shop for jewellery?
