Life lately…
Well, that’ll be December here then! It’s been a bit of a ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ year hasn’t it? I feel like I expected more from 2021 to be honest, and I say that as someone whose expectations were rather low to begin with!Saying that, I’m always telling everyone else to go easier on themselves but somehow when it comes to me I don’t allow myself the same courtesy.
I will have to do some reflecting before I draft up my proper end of year review – and by reflecting, I definitely mean go through all my photos and remind myself that I have had some good times!
I feel like I usually do so much more at this time of year, a sort of last push before Christmas, but this year I’m a little behind on content and for once, I don’t feel bad about it! Mainly because I was filming the Christmas episode of Scotland’s Home Of The Year which ate up a lot of my time and energy, and also because my dad is here (something I didn’t think would be able to happen for a long time!) and I just want to enjoy this time of year rather than pushing myself to work constantly.
Jord and I are going to Paris tomorrow which is v exciting, although as you can imagine there were a few hoops to jump through! It’s our ten year anniversary this month, as well as my birthday, and we haven’t been to Paris in years and years. I can’t wait to eat pastries and drink coffee and take photos! There’s just something about Paris at Christmas, it really is such a wonderful city.
I need to decide on outfits to pack today – which might be tricky as it’s meant to be cold and rainy the whole trip! To be fair, it’s cold and rainy in Glasgow too so I may as well be sipping hot chocolate in Paris with an assortment of berets to choose from.
I think I’ll pack this outfit here because I love , and I prefer wearing tights to jeans usually. The too, with the puffiest sleeves and cute floral pattern, so I reckon I can dress it up in the evening and throw it on with a skirt during the day.
I promised myself that I would actually plan outfits and pack them after deciding on the full look, rather than just throwing a heap of clothes in to my case and deciding on the day. I’m a terrible packer to be honest, which is odd considering how often I travel!
We recently started watching Euphoria so today I’m catching up on the first series whilst getting some work done. I don’t mind the rain if I can be inside all day! I haven’t started a new series in forever, but Euphoria is so gripping (although tbf I’m not sure their target audience is married couples in their 30s…)
I am theeeee biggest Zendaya fan so I love seeing her in something so different to anything else I’ve seen her in, and the entire cast are so great. It’s way more gritty than I expected – I originally put it on at the weekend while I was getting some work done but eventually Jord started watching it with me.
It’s cold and dark today but I have a candle burning and I’m about to make a tea, so it’s perfect viewing while I’m buried under a blanket and my laptop!
This week we were invited to The Ivy here in Glasgow and it was DELISH. We usually go to The Ivy at Christmas so it was lovely to keep up the tradition, I shared some snaps here if you’d like to see. The Christmas Carousel menu is definitely worth trying – the mozzarella is unreal!
Our other festive tradition is to go see It’s A Wonderful Life at the GFT, so I’m hoping to make that happen this year too – we missed it last year of course, but fingers crossed for this year! I do love a good festive tradition.
So that’s life lately for me – I always feel like I sort of hibernate in winter but this proves I’ve actually been fairly busy. What have you guys been up to lately?
