Winter Skin Essentials…
Whoa, whoa, whoa. My skin has been all over the place lately, I swear I find a routine, it works and then months later my skin suddenly… changes… completely? It’s a full time job, I tell you.
After many moons of struggling with acne, I recently got it under to control only to have a bout of perioral dermatitis in it’s place. Exhausting.
Anyway, I managed to sort that and now it’s just the horrendous cold weather/central heating cycle to tackle now. There’s a few products I swear by at this time of year so here’s a little rundown.
Eye Patches; I never, ever feel like I get enough sleep during these colder months! Waking up in the dark is never easy, and I always seem to look like I haven’t slept. The one thing I swear by is these , I pop them on for ten minutes while I get ready in the morning and voila, the puffiness is gone!
Lip Balm; I opened my coat pocket this morning and had no less than three (3!) lip products in there, all chilling waiting to be used on repeat throughout the day. One of my most used is this *, I’m a big fan of SF in general (as you can tell by this post!), but the lip balm is especially effective. Say goodbye to chapped lips for real! Plus the packaging is v v cute.
A Multi-Tasking Serum; I loooove a good serum, I find hydrating serums more effective than any other product in my routine. I recently got sent this *, aimed at sensitive skin prone to blemishes. It’s not something that I use every day, my skin can be a little iffy with niacinamide, but I use it every now and again – sort of like an overnight mask. I pat in a couple of drops and use my gua sha to work it in. It definitely helps to clear up my skin!
A Nourishing Cleanser; Probably one of the most important switch outs of the season, I always make sure to swap my cleanser for something a little more heavy duty come winter. I love this * because it gently sloughs away dead skin cells while also ensuring your complexion is supple and smooth. I use it once or twice a week in place of my usual cleanser and it always leaves my skin looking lovely.
A Hydrating Mask; If you’re not regularly applying a hydrating mask, you’re doing it all wrong!! This is one of the best masks I’ve tried – not just for the colder months or when I’m travelling either. It’s a goodie all year round, I promise you. I slather it on at the weekend for perfectly pampered skin ready for the week ahead!
