New in for Spring…
Spring is, without a doubt, my favourite time to experiment with new products! All the radiance primers, creamy cheek sticks and sheer bases start to make an appearance and I think all round I tend to have a softer, dewier look to my makeup.
With life the way it is right now, I’ve had more time to experiment with my makeup – I’ve been layering up my primers, trying different application methods with my foundations and even applying more than one eyeshadow on the regular! Wild.
Thank You Farmer Sun Project Water Sun Cream SPF50; I get asked a lot about the SPF I use, I have blemish-prone skin and I always find SPFs are killer for causing a breakout. I found this Thank You Farmer Water Sun Cream years ago and recently repurchased a new tube. It’s one of the only SPFs that doesn’t break me out – it feels weightless on the skin, doesn’t have too much of a scent and isn’t tacky or heavy either. I love the way it gives my complexion a subtle sheen, but nothing more than that. It’s a great product and I recommend it to everyone!
Laura Mercier Illuminating Pure Canvas Primer*; Laura Mercier are a brand known for their primers, so when they rereleased the OGs recently I was hesitant to repurchase – despite being a long-time fan! If it ain’t broke, eh?
Thankfully they sent the collection my way and I immediately added the Illuminating Primer to my stash. As it happens, it’s just as impressive as the originals – perhaps even better? I really shouldn’t have been worried. I sweep it on to skin before my base and it gives a lovely, soft-focus sort of plumpness that I can only ever achieve from a tube.
Bobbi Brown Bronzer in Stone Street; I squawk about this stuff all the time, but I really think it’s a must have! I wear it daily; sweeping it under cheekbones, along my jawline, stippling in to my hair line and adding a dusting to the temples too. It gives a warm, sculpted look to my pasty moonface, ensuring I always look healthy and alive!
The products making up my makeup bag…
NudeStix Magnetic Nude Glimmer in 24K Goddess; If there’s one brand I’ve fallen for lately, it’s NudeStix! I am obsessed with their creamy products and I don’t think there’s anything I’ve tried that I haven’t immediately loved.
Their Nude Glimmer is a creamy highlighter with an applicator, you sweep it on to cheekbones, down the nose, on to the Cupid’s Bow and then blend lightly with fingers. The warm, golden shimmer gives a flattering radiance that is only ever naturally glowy and never glittery or OTT. I adore it!
Hourglass Arch Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel; I’m sure most of us are in the same bushy brow boat right now. I have never missed my brow girl more! I’ve had to get creative rather than reach for the tweezers (I can just never get the shape right myself!), and brow gel has been getting me through. I love this Hourglass offering as it really bulks up the brows for an added bushy-ness.
NARS Afterglow Eyeshadow Palette; Isn’t this just the most mesmerising palette? When I opened it, I’m sure my face lit up like I’d just discovered treasure. The warm, golden shimmers and pops of pink and rust – my goodness. I absolutely swear by NARS eyeshadow palettes, and this is no exception. I did say I was attempting to be a bit more daring with my makeup looks, and I think this is the product to help me with it!
IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream SPF 50+; I didn’t include this in the photos as i’m on the last of my tube (my winter shade Fair Light! Great timing as I have since dug out the fake tan so I’ll switch to Light, my summer shade, soon), and it’s definitely looked better, but I had to give it a mention. I know this isn’t a new product and it’s definitely been round the block a few times, but believe me when I say it’s absolutely worth the hype! I’ve taken to pressing it in to my skin with warm fingers to get a more perfected result, and then I’ll go back in with a buffing brush for an extra blend. The result is always skin with an even, polished, lit-from-within finish.
A seriously impressive line-up of products currently taking over my makeup bag! Have you tried any of these?
