In the summer, summer…
It’s that time again – I’m lucky enough to be starting the month in New York, which is definitely going to set the tone for the following few weeks! July is shaping up to be a good one, I always feel like I come alive in the summer because I have so much more on. From holidays to home plans, here’s what you can expect to see from me this month…
01. A whole lotta New York content! Oh my gosh I love it here so much, I think it’s sort of a home away from home because we’ve visited a lot and we got married here. I was thinking of doing an updated city guide because there’s just a million places I can recommend, but I am wondering how I can put it all together when it would be such a massive list. Maybe by area and then broken down in to type (so restaurants/sights etc.)?
Anyway, you can expect me to be uploading pictures of this trip for weeks to come!
02. The renovation begins! The new flat has been slightly neglected lately as it’s taken me so long to find tradesmen, and when I did they were booked up over summer. I’ve been itching to see some progress but if there’s one thing that renovating an old tenement has taught me, it’s patience!
We’re going to be doing it in stages, but for a start the builders will be stripping the place, plastering and hopefully sorting the woodwork, and then I need to decide on flooring. We’ll get round to the kitchen and bathroom eventually, and I should have more to share with you in due course.
03. Get back on track. I’ve been struggling a little over the past couple of months, with breaking my wrist, the operation and then a lot of issues to do with my cervical health. I haven’t been able to go to the gym, I’ve had a ton of unwanted symptoms (especially, but not limited to, very uncomfortable bloating!) as well as a big scar on my wrist to deal with and work projects and other commitments I’ve had to turn down. It has been a lot! It’s totally thrown me off and I feel like I’ve lost myself a bit in the process.
July is my month to piece myself back together; I want to get back in to my fitness routine, give myself a bit of a pamper and just generally organise myself and get back to feeling like me! What do you do when you’re feeling out of sorts? Any tips would be seriously appreciated!
04. I have a couple of holidays coming up in July, one is a weekend away up north with my girl gang and the other is a proper holiday to Mallorca with Jordan and another couple of our friends. I’m beyond excited for both!
The TV show I am part of ‘Scotland’s Home of the Year’ was recommissioned for a second series (yay!) so I’ll be filming that throughout August and September. I love the show, the crew and the chance to see so much of Scotland, but filming is tough and exhausting and I get FOMO a lot when I see my friends all hanging out without me! I’m hoping that if I squeeze my entire summer in to July, I won’t mind being away working for the rest of it!
What’s new with you guys? Anything fun on the horizon this month?
