My warm weather wonders…
With the arrival of summer (maybe not so much in Scotland, but I remain hopeful) and my calendar filling up with a couple of sunny trips, it’s time to make a few beauty swaps! In honour of the new season, here are some of my favourite products for overhauling your routine in time for better weather – from the ultimate summer scent to breathable coverage bases, and even my numero uno SPF…
Haircare & Fragrance
Who doesn’t want swishy, shiny hair when the sun is out? I love a silky hair oil, especially this Moroccan Oil Light Treatment which gives my fine hair all of the smoothing action but none of the greasy finish!
I pump a few drops in my hands and run through towel-dried hair before leaving to air-dry. It smells divine and really works miracles on my parched ends. It’s one I pack with me when I travel to sunnier climes too.
When I think of seaside holidays, I think of Estee Lauder’s Bronze Goddess*! The delicious notes of coconut, amber, sandalwood and vanilla make me feel like I’m spritzing on summer when I use this!
Sun, Skincare & SPF
I’ve talked a lot about this Origins x Madeleine Shaw Glow-Co-Nuts Moisture Mask*, it’s a long-time love of mine. It’s such a quick fix – I apply it just before going to bed at night and let it hydrate my tired complexion while I snooze. Sweep it on once before you jet off, and pack it in your case for slathering on after a day in the sun too.
Just when I was researching which SPF to buy next, in lands this Clarins Dry Touch Sun Cream*! Clarins do some of the best suncream in my opinion, and this is an essential for everyday protection without the tacky feeling. Recently I’ve been using it instead of primer to prep my skin as it acts as such a great base for make up! It doesn’t seem to ever break me out either, which is rare for me…
I came across an old favourite of mine recently – the Herbivore Rose Lip Polish. A super invigorating balm that keeps any dry bits at bay whilst ensuring my lips look smooth and hydrated!
The softening shower duo…
Of course, no beauty prep is complete without an in-shower scrub! With ingredients including Moroccan rose and coconut oil, this Herbivore Coco Rose Scrub has the perfect consistency for gently buffing away dry skin – I’m on to my third pot, and I don’t think I’ll be slowing down any time soon!
I love following it up with the L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil, it has a deliciously sunkissed scent that reminds me of summer holidays, and it’s an absolute treat for parched skin!
The best for bronzing…
The cult classic Benefit Hoola has always been my go-to for a boxed bronze, so when Benefit extended the shade range this year, I was over the moon! Or, should I say sun? Hoola Caramel is a happy medium for a natural sun-kissed glow all year round, it’s perfect for a subtle boost.
My latest obsession for a sunless glow? These incredible Lumene Tan Drops. Effortless application, an even glow and something I can introduce when I need a bit of colour! I top up every other day and mix around 3 drops with my daily moisturiser for a natural, buildable glow.
Makeup Made For Lasting
I think I’ve been an avid NARS Orgasm devotee for a decade now, and I don’t see the love affair ending any time soon!
I wear the liquid blush daily, and now I’ll be teaming it with the Liquid Highlighter* for some extra summertime shimmer. Orgasm gals, you’re going to ADORE this.
While I’m in NARS fangirl mode, let’s talk about this oh so dinky NARS Mini Travel Palette*! I cannot get over how cute this is, I always struggle with knowing which palettes to pack when I’m on the move, but this little number ticks all the boxes!
