Peppermint White Russians.

A candy cane cocktail…

I don’t make a secret of my love for cocktails, and so I just had to get a festive tipple together in time for the big day.

I’m planning on sitting in front of the TV with this delicious creation for a Christmas film marathon! I haven’t watched Elf this year so I feel like tonight is the night.

My Salted Caramel White Russians from Christmas Eve a few years back is still a favourite of mine, so I gave it a Christmassy twist – who doesn’t love peppermint?! We seemed to have a load of candy canes for some reason this year too, so it was perfect.

How to make it…

Grab two pretty glasses and fill with ice.

In a cocktail shaker, shake together…

25ml peppermint schnapps
25ml double cream
50ml milk
25ml kahlua
handful of ice

Pour in to the glasses and decorate with shards of peppermint bark. I made this by melting white chocolate, spreading a layer on to baking paper and sprinkling with crushed candy canes. I cooled the bark in the fridge and once set, snapped in to pieces for the garnish.
A single raspberry added a bit of colour, too!

This can be made dairy-free with oat cream and almond milk, or whatever you prefer! You can also use peppermint syrup instead of schnapps.

Another yummy drink for you to serve up over Christmas! Will you be giving this a go?
