A year in beauty products…
This year has been great for beauty discoveries – and not just products either, but entire brands too. I feel like I’ve found some lifelong favourites in amongst this bunch, so of course I had to share them with you.
The haircare heroes
I found two hair brands I doubt I’ll ever stray from this year, the first being IGK. As soon as I saw their products in Sephora in the US earlier this year, I stocked up. It was the packaging at first, but before long I was a loyal fan of the products too.
The IGK Jet Lag Invisible Dry Shampoo is great for adding texture to fine hair, and for zapping greasy roots too. Honestly, I’ve tried so much of the range now and I love it all.
Another US hair brand I fell in love with this year was Kristin Ess’ hair line. I’ve followed the lady herself for years and I’ve always been a huge fan – I feel like the packaging was made with me in mind!
My most loved find of the range is the Leave-In Conditioner, which leaves my hair so, soft soft and shiny! Plus, it makes detangling suuuuuper easy too.
In my skincare stash…
I, along with many, discovered Glossier this year and I really haven’t looked back. There’s so many gems, but my absolute favourite has to be the Moon Mask; a moisturising, glow-inducing treatment that works wonders for my skin. You need this!
The Milky Jelly Cleanser is another must, I use this daily and it cleanses my skin without the stripped feeling. Perfection!
The Beauty Pie Five Minute Facial is something I tried on a whim, but have been fully committed to since that first use! It’s a quick-action peel that transforms my complexion right away – I use it once per week with awesome results.
My skin also fell for the La Mer Moisturising Soft Cream, which is so typical. Of course my skin has to have such expensive taste! I’m so, so picky with moisturiser so to find something that is hydrating yet light, and doesn’t break me out, is a bit of a miracle!
The Makeup must-haves
I didn’t think I had switched up my makeup all that much this year, but this edit tells a very different tale!
I discovered the amazing new Estee Lauder primers that launched this year; I adore The Illuminator primer for a flawless, soft glow, and The Smoother for a super soft, super perfected finish – I usually layer them over each other for impressive results.
My foundation discovery this year was the new Clinique Even Better Glow – the most flawless base for naturally radiant skin! I’ve always been a big fan of Clinique foundations, and I feel like I have found a long-term love in this.
The release of Fenty Beauty was huge, and the hype has been crazy! As much as I adore Rhi Rhi, I wasn’t all that bothered about the range until I saw it in person. I had to have the Killawat Highlighter duo, just look at those shades! I use these as illuminating blushers and they always help to bring my makeup to life!
I’m still a crazy fan of Charlotte Tilbury makeup, and I added two new additions to my everyday favourites this year – first, the Hollywood Lips, which are effortless creamy liquid lipsticks available in an array of beaut shades. I rarely use anything else!
Then there’s the new highlighting Hollywood Light and Contour Wands, although I’ve never been a big fan of contouring, I find these so infallible for creating a bit of structure to the face.
As for everything else…
My perfume of the year has to be Diptyque Dans L’Ombre, the Baies scent in fragrance form. This smells so deliciously fresh, like blackcurrants and roses and English country gardens. It’s so sophisticated and totally different from anything else I’ve ever worn!
Let’s face it, this wouldn’t be a KLV roundup without a bit of Jo Malone, and this year gave us the new Exfoliating Shower Gels! I totally fell in love with the Lime, Basil and Mandarin scent, it’s such an indulgent treat for my morning shower – I’ve been through a good few tubes already.
Aaaaaand that’s finally it – I told you it had been a good year! My favourite finds from the 2017, all rolled in to one. Have you tried any of these? Have you found any long-time loves this year too?
