My love for cocktails knows no bounds, and living with a cocktail expert has definitely allowed me to pursue many flavour combinations! I wanted to whip up something dreamy and festive, something to sip on as you snuggle up in your PJs, with a Christmas film playing in the background.

And so, the Salted Caramel White Russian was born.

This is a really simple drink, so I went all out with the garnish. I swirled the glass with salted caramel sauce first, to add a little somethin’ somethin’ to the mix. As for the finishing touches, a bit of rosemary really added some colour to my incredible concoction, and we decided to snap up some of the Green & Blacks Thins Salted Caramel chocolate in to long, thin pieces to decorate too. Plus, it was a tasty treat to munch!

You don’t need anything too fancy for this, just a sprig of Rosemary if you can, and some matching glasses. I found the Salted Caramel Irish Cream in Tesco, and it’s heavenly!

The recipe below makes one cocktail, so double for two.

Ingredients
Salted caramel sauce
Ice
Salt flakes

25ml (one shot) Salted Caramel Irish Cream
25ml Amaretto
75ml (3 shots) of half and half (milk and cream)

Method
Take the caramel sauce and use a teaspoon to slightly drizzle it in the glass, while slowly turning the glass so you get a nice swirled effect.
Fill the glass with ice.

Next, add your liquid ingredients to your cocktail shaker, along with a few cubes of ice. Shake well and strain in to the glasses. Garnish with a spring of rosemary, a bit of chocolate or even a candy cane! Perfection. I even sprinkled on a little salt flakes to complete the taste sensation!

This just feels festive! Will you be whipping up one of these?
