Reacting to products that are designed to improve the condition of your skin is never going to be pleasant, as many people with sensitive skin will tell you! I’ve always been wary of over-fragranced products, but I didn’t realise how badly skin issues could affect people until recently…
You may remember that I hosted an opportunity earlier this year for my readers to enter to be chosen to be part of a La Roche-Posay skincare run, testing and trialling the products. It was a success, and I was invited down to London to meet the ladies lucky enough to be chosen, and hear more about their experiences using the Toleriane range.
The candidates had filmed “before” footage four weeks prior, explaining a little bit about their skin and their ongoing struggles with having a reactive complexion. This was the “after”, the girls had a personal consultation with a leading dermatologist, Dr Wakelin, and then followed a four-week trial of only the La Roche-Posay Toleriane range.
You may remember I spoke about my experiences with the products in this post; I’m a big fan of the brand’s effective and affordable skincare, and I have only good things to say about the range. The products are hydrating, soothing and always work wonders on my skin – the Toleriane range especially is great for keeping your complexion looking dreamy, even if you don’t suffer from sensitivity yourself.
On the day of filming, I met Liv and Lucy, two women who have had issues with sensitive skin for most of their lives. They talked candidly about their daily battles, which was definitely eye-opening for me – they experienced issues with their skin on a much more serious level to me.
I’ve included the final video from the day, it turned out so well. (I loved the filming setup – I even took some notes because the girls looked so ethereal on camera!)
I learned so much in just a few short hours; Dr Wakelin mentioned during the filming that such a small change in your skincare routine can really have a big impact on your life – I know for me, my skin doesn’t get along well with strong fragrances, so using the entire Toleriane range – which is free of ingredients that cause my skin to react – makes my everyday routines so much easier.
I couldn’t resist swiping one of the new La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Nuit Overnight Creams – I’ve featured this on Snapchat quite a few times, so I thought I’d just add in my thoughts. The formula was inspired by Korean skincare, so it’s got that lush smoothing feeling and it feels intensely quenching on the skin thanks to the addition of the La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water. The brand do say that the more you use it, the less sensitive your skin becomes in the long-run.
It also works to soothe redness, and provide long-lasting relief to skin in need – it’s lovely and hydrating, all while feeling light and refreshing on the skin.
I hope this little roundup has given you a good overview of the brand. I’ve been a long-time fan of La Roche-Posay for being experts in sensitive skin, but seeing the results the products have had on people with intolerant skin has made me see the brand in a whole new light. If you react to parabens, fragrances or just want incredibly effective skincare with an affordable price tag, this is a brand you don’t want to miss out on.
What are you experiences with sensitive skin? Have you tried La Roche-Posay?
