Foreo Luna Play.

I wasn’t going to review this little gadget for a while, but quite a few of you requested reviews after I featured it in my morning routine and a few times on Snapchat. Also, I saw good results very quickly, so it made sense to give you a little ‘first impressions’ rundown.

I was gifted the a month or so ago, and up until now I had pretty much avoided the Foreo hype. I’m not sure what it was – perhaps because I had been suffering with acne previously, and also because I got sick of my Clarisonic very quickly.
As it happens, the Luna Play isn’t anything like the Clarisonic, except that it sends out sonic technology to cleanse the skin. There’s no harsh brushes, no heavy handle… the Luna Play is about the size of a cotton pad, and it has small, soft, flexible bristles that don’t irritate your skin with use.

The works to improve the effectiveness of your cleanser, helping to remove impurities and toxins whilst also decongesting and gently exfoliating the complexion.
The first thing I noticed with this is how gentle it is on the skin, which I’m so on board with! The sonic pulses softly vibrate on the face, purifying the skin and ensuring a peachy-clean, oh so soft complexion after just a minute’s use. How awesome?!

I use this morning and night, usually with a cleansing balm (always on the second cleanse in my double cleansing routine), or occasionally an oil or face wash. I think it goes hand in hand with the , so I’ve got myself a solid routine right now.
It’s also meant to help your skincare sink in better, which makes me feel better for applying £40 serums afterwards…

The Play is super easy to clean, as it’s waterproof and hygienic. I give it a good wash under the hot tap and all’s good – there’s no where for bacteria and grime to build up.

I’ve seen wicked results with this –  my skin is incredibly soft. Like seriously, ‘oh my god I want to touch it constantly’ kind of soft. I’ve had a tonne of compliments on my complexion, and my makeup applies beautifully. All in all, I love it.

The only downside with the Luna Play is that it has a limited lifespan. It’s £29, but you get it for 100 uses – there’s no way to replace the battery or recharge it. Honestly, I think that’s quite a good deal – the Luna Play is meant for girls on the go, for popping in to your hand luggage for travelling, so I kind of like that you don’t need to pack a cable or charger.
I’m thinking of upgrading to the Luna Mini 2, which is a step up in cost, but it’s rechargeable and more ideal for twice-daily use. Has anyone tried this and can recommend?

I’m not usually one to rave about skincare gadgets, but this is a winner. It’s affordable, efficient and the results speak for themselves.

Have you tried anything by Foreo?
