Lazy Sunday Morning.

lazysunday

I’ve been meaning to do a post about this incredible scent for a while now (spurned on by so many requests!) but I felt I just had to wait for a Sunday morning to post it! Sorry, not sorry.

I think the Replica ‘Lazy Sunday Morning’ fragrance has almost a cult status; I heard so much about this dreamy concoction before I tried it! The description ‘soft skin and bed linen’ is everything – everyone knows there’s no better scent than fresh bedding. It’s heaven bottled, I tell you.

The Maison Martin Margiela Replica fragrance line creates scents that from different periods and places. Each of the bottles has a brief description on the label detailing where the scent comes from, and the what it is inspired by. Lazy Sunday Morning takes inspiration from Florence, in the early 00’s – it’s softly romantic and truly delicious.

The scent itself is feminine but not young; there’s a musky, powdery note that plays down the floral notes, while the lily of the valley and patchouli hints give that fresh, clean feel.
I like to layer it on in the morning as I get dressed, and allow the familiar notes to warm and develop with my skin, forming something familiar and pure.

The brand describe the scent as being quite heavy, and I guess it is very fragrant and bold, but it also feels quite dainty on the skin – I never think it’s overbearing. It’s softly sophisticated and lovely day or night.

I’d say this is similar to the scents I usually wear – if you like Marc Jacobs Daisy or Jo Malone Sea Salt & Sage, you’re bound to love the heavy yet comforting notes of Lazy Sunday Morning!

A definite winner from Replica – has anyone else tried anything from the line?

  • I’ve never tried anything from the line before but now I really want to! The bottle is so nicely designed – simple yet chic and as you said – there is nothing better than fresh bedding! Great post! 🙂

    Have a lovely day x

Yes! Finally someone who is in love with this scent as well! I just got the tester now and am in love with it, but I already purchased one that’ll last a longer time. I think this scent is very feminine in a way that also makes it sophisticated, if that makes sense. And btw, a great un’ on the title! Very fitting for Easter Sunday. xx

Kate, you keep writing about all the things I want to know! I tested Beach Walk from the same line in rollerball-form yesterday. It was nice, but I know Lazy Sunday Morning is the one for me. Unfortunately, they don’t carry these in any stores within a 50-mile radius. I may just have to risk it for the biscuit and buy it online!

I’ve only heard of this brand in the last month or so and it seems like everyone is talking about and loving it now. Sadly for me I doubt they stock this in Australia so I’ll probably never get a chance to smell it.

I couldn’t agree more! This is one of my favorite scents I’ve bought in a very long time. I also just got “Beach Walk” which is a much lighter, playful smell. It’s wonderful too, but I think I still like “Lazy Sunday Morning” better.

  • Oh god, I need that fragrance now. Uh oh.

Sounds so light and pretty! Although, I do try and stay away from actual perfume brands as I don’t really admire the alcohol scent behind the perfume (if you know what I mean). I love using The Body Shop perfumes, matter of fact! they last a good couple hours and come in so many pretty scents, especially floral, which I’d think you might like. x

  • This is just so amazing! 🙂
