It’s cocktail o’clock!

Whereas Jordan is more of an all-year-round espresso martini drinker (I guess that goes hand in hand with being a barista!), for me it’s a drink reserved for Christmas. That silky hit of caffeine is probably what usually keeps me going through my December social calendar!
So of course, as soon as the festive season arrived we’ve pulled the Kahlua out of hiding and espresso martinis have been kicking off our Friday nights in front of the TV! Don’t say we don’t live life on the wild side.
For this recipe, we used Pact Coffee, a 100% speciality grade, ethically-sourced subscription coffee service that can be paused, stopped or rescheduled at any time. You can buy the coffee in bags, ground to your liking, or in pods to fit most coffee machines. The website makes it easy to choose coffee for you too – we loved the Christmas Blend which has notes of Christmas Pudding, perfect for our dreamy drink creation!
So with bags of Pact Coffee to hand, we decided to shake things up a little (literally, heh) and create a cocktail with a twist – the Salted Caramel Espresso Martini. It’s a fun, festive upgrade on the original and it tastes delicious! Here’s how to make ’em…
To Make Two Salted Caramel Espresso Martinis
You Will Need:
2 double shots Pact Coffee espresso
100ml Salted Caramel Gin Liqueur
50ml Kahlua
Method:
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, add the above ingredients and shake until the cocktail shaker is too cold to hold. Strain in to two martini glasses, garnish with a couple of coffee beans and sip your tipple! Easy peasy.
Your Christmas tipple sorted!
Your Friday nights in front of the TV will definitely feel all the more fun with a hit of caffeine in your system – although it’s worth noting that Pact do decaf beans too if you’re not feeling so crazy!
It’s these little moments of magic at home that really make me love Christmas so much, settling down with a cocktail after a long week and flicking on a Christmas film just feels like the perfect way to spend the majority of December!
And while we’re on the topic of coffee, the lovely team at Pact have given you all a code to get £5 off your first bag of coffee when you sign up to a plan as a new customer – just use KATELAVIE at checkout to claim it. I may just have solved that present crisis for your coffee-loving boyfriend…
