On the agenda for April…
Oh April, you’re set to be a busy one! I think every single day of my calendar has a little dot on it, which is… daunting in some ways, but also super exciting. I did say I had a quiet start to the year but I think that’s all about to change. Let me share what I’ve got going on…
01. This week I have an event with Origins at the coffee shop on Thursday to celebrate their latest launch (which you’ll see is very me!). We’ve had it in the works for a while now because I never really do any events, especially anything in Scotland, so I thought it would be fun to get some of you guys together at the shop for a little flower workshop and a casual coffee & cake chat! I’ve met quite a few of my Glasgow readers, especially with popping in to the shop and a couple of other events I’ve been at, so it will be nice to catch up again properly over some delicious cake. There’s still a few tickets left as I haven’t announced it on my own channels just yet, so if you’d like to come there’s a 4pm slot and a 6.30pm slot! I hope to see some of you there!
02. So, you may remember in August last year I took a small break from my online duties, ie blogging, Instagram and the rest, and I was travelling in Scotland for the best part of a month. I couldn’t say too much at the time, but now I can share the details and tell you I was secretly filming a TV show! It’s called Scotland’s Home Of The Year and it’s on the new BBC Scotland channel which can be found on channel 115 on Sky and Freeview, 106 on Freesat or 108 on Virgin.
Every Wednesday at 8pm for the next eight weeks, beginning 10th April, you can find me and my fellow judges, Anna and Michael, snooping around some of the most beautiful homes in the country!
It truly feels like a lifetime ago that we filmed it, but the actual discussion and meetings and planning took place almost a year ago so it’s been in the works for a while.
Honestly, I never even for one second considered television as something I’d want to explore. I love what I do online, I love creating content myself and sharing my life with you guys – it was enough for me. When the production company got in touch about the show, I passed it along to my agents and didn’t think much of it. They set up a few meetings for me and I met the team and before I knew it, we were doing a test shoot and before long it was time to start filming! I kind of fell in to it, but maybe it was meant to be – it was a fun, nerve-wracking, exciting and exhausting (SO exhausting!) time for me but I truly hope you watch and enjoy it. It took so much hard work from everyone involved to get to this point, the actual air date, and I can’t believe it’s actually here. Please let me know if you’ll be watching along!

03. Next week I’m heading back to New York with my favourite makeup brand, Bobbi Brown! I am beyond excited to be working with them on such an incredible campaign over the next few months, it truly is such a dream partnership. New York is like my home away from home too, every visit there makes me fall more and more in love with it! You may remember that my favourite Bobbi Brown Pro Artist Eddie did my makeup for my wedding day in New York too, so it means so much that I’m working with them for this. I feel so, so lucky!
Anyway, I’ve just had a look over the itinerary and it’s set to be an incredible trip – keep your eyes peeled for updates while I’m there!
04. Just two days after I get back from New York, I fly back to New Zealand to see my family for the first time in over a year! It’s going to be a crazy one as my brother and his wife have had a baby girl over the weekend (called Zoey, ah!), and my oldest brother also welcomed a new baby girl called Gracie since we were there last! All the little ‘uns.
I can’t believe it’s been so long since we were last there, I feel like so much has changed this past year so it will take some time to get used to being back I think.
I usually go quite quiet when I’m back in New Zealand, I know everyone wants to see updates and blog posts of the trip but I do tend to use the time to switch off and enjoy seeing my family. It’s also really hard to know when to post because of the 12 hour time difference. It sounds odd but you really realise how far away you are from everything else when you’re there, and it makes it tricky to keep up with everything. I’ll still be on Instagram etc. but just a heads up because I’m aware I do go off the grid a little.
I think that takes me up to May – what a crazy, manic but incredible few weeks I’ve got ahead of me. What’s on the cards for you lot this month?
