{unpaid gifted trip with Kenzo Fragrances}
Another flying visit…
I seem to always visit Paris at just the right time – when the city is washed with golden light and the blue skies are peeking through the clouds! In some ways, Paris feels a bit like a home away from home, I’ve been so many times and I know my way around fairly well, but I’m usually here for work so the visits are over too quickly – usually just as I’m getting my bearings!
Last week I spent a casual 24 hours in the city as part of an immersive experience with Kenzo to introduce their latest release; Flower Eau De Vie, along with the lovely Sarah and Sandra. Even though these trips are usually a bit of a whirlwind, I love the way they give you a better insight to the product and I find I’m quite loyal the brand afterwards in a way – almost like I’ve attached happy memories to the scent!
Like most of us I’m sure, I’ve had the original Kenzo Flower EDP over the years, but the latest release packs in ginger and orange blossom to create a lovely zesty concoction! I always love floral scents so this was instantly a hit with me, such a beaut pick for Spring.
Even though this was such a quick trip, I was pretty snap-happy (very easy in Paris, I always come back with an overflowing SD card) and I thought I’d share them on here as a sort of casual roundup! You may remember one of my goals for this year was to do more of these sorts of posts…
We started off the trip by checking in to the Nolinski Hotel on Avenue de l’Opéra, which was insanely beautiful! It was my first time here and I loved it, so sleek and plush and the staff were incredibly accommodating. I find Paris’ selection of hotels so diverse, and even though I’ve visited the city maybe 10 or 15 times, I’ve only ever stayed at the same hotel twice!
Soon after checking in we headed to an immersive experience with the brand in the most beautiful Parisian apartment I have ever seen. Chevron floors, a grand marble fireplace and even a balcony with a view of the Sacré-Cœur! These are always the highlights of work trips for me, you get to see a side of the city you would never get to experience if you were organising it yourself.
We helped to create desserts inspired by the notes within the fragrance and then ate them in the sun-drenched apartment, it was pretty special – although I was literally feeling a bit unwell with envy being in such a dreamy space!
On to the outfit…
I had just hopped off the plane a few hours before the event so I wore something casual, an easy ‘n’ comfy navy pinafore dress over a white lace top with my staple Chloe Faye bag and black ankle boots. I feel like at one point in my life I would have made a bit more effort for such an event, but I’ve learned that Parisian gals are always nailing that perfect casual/cool style so a laidback outfit always goes down well!
That night we headed for dinner at a cute little Italian and it was the perfect end to the trip – confirmed by the fact I took zero photos because we were all chatting over glasses of wine until the small hours. I always feel so lucky when I get to do these trips with such amazing and inspiring girls.
The following morning I woke to a dreamy room service breakfast and a massage in the hotel’s incredible spa, so you could say I was feeling rather fancy for my easyJet flight home!
Ahh Paris, you always leave me in a dreamy daze – is anyone planning a trip there this year?!
