My month ahead…
So the longest January on record is finally over. As much as I hate wishing my life away, it does feel good to be in to a new month! February is one step closer to Spring, and let me tell you… I am ready for lighter mornings and brighter days.
February isn’t looking too crazy for me just yet, although I know it’ll probably fill up. I’ve had quite a slow and steady start to the year, which I’m definitely thankful for – I feel like I’ve been eased in to life this year.
Saying that, there’s still a lot that I want to achieve so let me fill you in…
01. I’ve been trying to sort out some travel plans this year so I can plan ahead. Last year was a bit crazy and I want to have more of an idea of what I’m doing this year, although I do secretly love a last-minute getaway!
I haven’t been over to New Zealand in almost a year, which is longer than we would usually leave it. My brother Chris and his wife are expecting a baby girl so if we time it right we’ll be there a few weeks after the arrival, if we can find some decent flights! We always say we’re going to stopover somewhere, I would love to stop in Asia – maybe Hong Kong? But flights are tricky as it is as we have to go Glasgow > Dubai > Sydney > Auckland > Nelson as it is, another stop might tip us over the edge!
Also on my bucketlist this year is Japan and Sri Lanka, I’m desperate to go to both but if we manage one I’ll be very pleased! The only trip I have booked is a mini break with Jordan to Venice next month, I still haven’t booked a hotel though so let me know if you have any recommendations!
I have kind of set myself a goal of 30 countries before I’m 30, and I’m five away from reaching it – hopefully I can tick a few more off in the next year or so.
02. We haven’t done any work on the coffee shop since this time last year but we’ve been talking about having a small rejig for a while now. I want to change the seating to a lovely dark green, and maybe have someone make a backing for the bench seat. We’ve had the pink scalloped seating since we opened and I was never a fan of it so I’ve been trying to convince Jordan it needs to go this whole time! He finally gave me the go ahead recently, so I’m itching to get it done before he changes his mind. I’d also like to find some pretty rattan seats to go with it for more of a serene, jungle vibe. And plants! Lots more plants!
03. The TV show I worked on in the summer is being televised soon, which is both exciting and nerve-wracking! Honestly it feels like SO long since we filmed it, I really think it’ll feel like I’m watching someone else when it comes to it.
I have some social bits to film towards the end of the month to promote it a bit. I haven’t got all the details yet, but when I know I’ll keep you posted – eep!
04. My calendar is mostly filled with social events this month, I seem to living like Paris Hilton at the moment! I have quite a few birthdays and occasions on throughout February, not to mention Valentine’s Day. We never really celebrate Valentine’s Day, sometimes I’ll buy Jord a card if I see something super cute… this year we have a gig on, so that takes away the pressure! What does everyone do for Valentine’s usually? Celebrate it or skip it? I’m intrigued.
So that’s February! Pretty quite in some ways, which gives me a chance to catch up on life and get ahead of myself. What’s on the cards for you guys this month?
