My February Goals.

My month ahead…

So the longest January on record is finally over. As much as I hate wishing my life away, it does feel good to be in to a new month! February is one step closer to Spring, and let me tell you… I am ready for lighter mornings and brighter days.

February isn’t looking too crazy for me just yet, although I know it’ll probably fill up. I’ve had quite a slow and steady start to the year, which I’m definitely thankful for – I feel like I’ve been eased in to life this year.
Saying that, there’s still a lot that I want to achieve so let me fill you in…

01. I’ve been trying to sort out some travel plans this year so I can plan ahead. Last year was a bit crazy and I want to have more of an idea of what I’m doing this year, although I do secretly love a last-minute getaway!
I haven’t been over to New Zealand in almost a year, which is longer than we would usually leave it. My brother Chris and his wife are expecting a baby girl so if we time it right we’ll be there a few weeks after the arrival, if we can find some decent flights! We always say we’re going to stopover somewhere, I would love to stop in Asia – maybe Hong Kong? But flights are tricky as it is as we have to go Glasgow > Dubai > Sydney > Auckland > Nelson as it is, another stop might tip us over the edge!

Also on my bucketlist this year is Japan and Sri Lanka, I’m desperate to go to both but if we manage one I’ll be very pleased! The only trip I have booked is a mini break with Jordan to Venice next month, I still haven’t booked a hotel though so let me know if you have any recommendations!
I have kind of set myself a goal of 30 countries before I’m 30, and I’m five away from reaching it – hopefully I can tick a few more off in the next year or so.

02. We haven’t done any work on the coffee shop since this time last year but we’ve been talking about having a small rejig for a while now. I want to change the seating to a lovely dark green, and maybe have someone make a backing for the bench seat. We’ve had the pink scalloped seating since we opened and I was never a fan of it so I’ve been trying to convince Jordan it needs to go this whole time! He finally gave me the go ahead recently, so I’m itching to get it done before he changes his mind. I’d also like to find some pretty rattan seats to go with it for more of a serene, jungle vibe. And plants! Lots more plants!

03. The TV show I worked on in the summer is being televised soon, which is both exciting and nerve-wracking! Honestly it feels like SO long since we filmed it, I really think it’ll feel like I’m watching someone else when it comes to it.
I have some social bits to film towards the end of the month to promote it a bit. I haven’t got all the details yet, but when I know I’ll keep you posted – eep!

04. My calendar is mostly filled with social events this month, I seem to living like Paris Hilton at the moment! I have quite a few birthdays and occasions on throughout February, not to mention Valentine’s Day. We never really celebrate Valentine’s Day, sometimes I’ll buy Jord a card if I see something super cute… this year we have a gig on, so that takes away the pressure! What does everyone do for Valentine’s usually? Celebrate it or skip it? I’m intrigued.

So that’s February! Pretty quite in some ways, which gives me a chance to catch up on life and get ahead of myself. What’s on the cards for you guys this month?

Ah I love Sri Lanka! Do that over Japan before it becomes super touristy as more and more people are going there.
I’m also trying to do 30 countries before 30. I’ve done 23 so far and I’m 28 next week! Hoping I can squeeze a few more in over the next few years!

    • Ooh wow, well done you – so well travelled! Yes Sri Lanka is a must this year, I’ve heard so many good things x

  • These are some great goals goodluck!

  • I love reading about all your plans for the month ahead. Honestly you always inspire me to fill up my time so I appreciate those lazy, pamper days more! I’m really intrigued about the tv show, I know you said on your insta stories recently that you wanted to stop doing videos on youtube so this could be a new adventure for you!

I have a long way to go if I want to get to 30 countries by 30, I haven’t been to many yet (at 22). I did apply for a job at a travel agent though, so if I get it I will definitely be making use of my staff discount which means I may be able to make 30 by 30.

    • I keep going back to the same countries, which doesn’t raise the number. I don’t really have any other goals like this so it’s nice to have something to work towards. Good luck with the job, I can imagine it’ll have its perks! x

Oh, Japan. You gonna love it. We were there last May and after we came home we have booked the next trip back this autumn because that much we loved it. And now we gonna spend there a month travelling around Japan and see more of that beautiful country.
Cannot wait the TV show !!! πŸ™‚

    • Oh that’s amazing news, I’m so excited to go. I feel like I’m putting it off because I want to go so badly and I feel like I need a long time to prep for it!! We’re thinking of going in April for a week before we go to NZ, if you have any recs I’d loooove to hear them x

  • Having the opportunity to travel to Japan will be the loveliest thing ever, there’s nothing more profound and educationally enriched, rich in history and well established in culture. You’ll enjoy this country and it’s charm very much so.

    • I can’t wait!! Hoping to organise it soon x

  • I’ve been single for more than ten years, so I usually skip Valentine’s Day. In fact, I dread it because it makes me feel really lonely.

  • Your outfit looks amazing!

Omg a tv that is so exciting. Please tell me we’ll be able to watch you on the tele here in the U.S?! πŸ˜‰ My husband and I never really go all out for Vday. We do enjoy a normal dinner at home and celebrate by having some kind of indulging dessert. One year we had some macarons, and another a large heart-shaped chocolate chip cookie with ice cream on top. Yum!

    • Hahhaha it was about a year long!! Maybe cos there’s never much happening in the blogger world, so we all go a bit crazy x

  • It’s strange, I see a lot of people talk about January dragging! It seemed to fly by for me. But I think that’s only because I’m due to give birth at the end of March and there’s still so much left to do!!

    • Ooh how exciting!! You must be nesting like crazy, hope you get to relax for the final weeks – wishing you lots of luck x

  • Flo la vita

Sounds like you going to have so much fun travelling- hong kong sounds fab xx

I had to re-read that part where you said you were “never a fan of the pink scallop seating” at least 3 times… I was thinking wait, Kate and blush pink go hand in hand. But anyway, the green sounds absolutely lovely, as that’s my newest obsession interior wise. As for Valentine’s Day, it’s pretty low key, with a card, a small present (most likely in the form of a couple’s game) and a home cooked dinner.

Dying to go to Japan! We just cam back from Byron Bay and Sydney. Wish we had the time to go to New Zealand.
    Enjoy your travels!

When you go to Venice, go to the island of Burano. I wanted to go so badly but it was the end of our long trip and I became extremely ill with the flu or a cold. The buildings are supposed to be so pretty and they are a hidden gem for delicious risotto! I wanted to get some so badly. Have some for me!

Love this! I’m hoping February for me is a more of a relaxed one but it’s not looking that way currently!
