My current wardrobe essentials…
If I’m honest, I feel completely over winter dressing now (especially after my tropical getaway last week) but we have another couple of months of arctic temperatures, so the least I can do is look cute while I slowly freeze to death.
Saying that, I am loving my winter style at the moment. I don’t really enjoy shopping for clothes and I especially don’t enjoy trying on clothes, so it usually means my wardrobe looks a little dated. I’m trying to avoid fast fashion as much as possible and I’ve been buying more investment pieces instead, so slowly over time my wardrobe has come alive once again! Phewwww.
A Colourful Coat
I’ve always been quite sensible with my coat purchases because blah blah blah it’s freezing here and I’m never not wearing one. Most of my outerwear is neutral, and I wasn’t feeling very sassy in my tan coats and black jackets. When I saw this teal oversized coat on ASOS, I clicked ‘add to basket’ immediately.
I’ve been pairing this with faded black skinnies, floaty white tops and lots of gold accessories. An instant outfit complete with a flash of colour (and I can always be found in a crowd).
My Dream Ankle Boots
Allow me to introduce my latest splurge purchase; the Chloe Susanna boots. Like most, I’ve had my eye on these for a couple of years now but it was only recently I finally found them in the sale! I deliberated for a little while because they’re still quite pricey, but I eventually came to my senses and made the purchase. I know I’ll get a lot of use of out these because they’re so me!
So far I’ve worn them a lot with floaty midi skirts and cute jumpers, but they do work with jeans too.
The Staple Leopard Midi
Leopard print never really goes out of style, does it? It’s just such an easy way to inject a bit of life in to an outfit, and of course a midi skirt is always a go-to piece for me.
I’ve been wearing this Topshop Leopard Midi with the Chloe boots and a simple white top a lot lately, it’s one of those outfits that requires very little thought so I come back to it time after time!
My Everyday Bag
I keep joking that I need to give my other handbags some attention because I’m forever wearing my favourite small Chloe Faye bag! I’m yet to find an outfit that this bag doesn’t go with, and it’s the perfect size (aka holds my purse, phone and 17 lip products). I love how it stands out against my outfits, especially the leopard print midi and teal coat combo.
The ‘Goes With Everything’ Jumper
One of my favourite pieces I bought this season was a white knitted jumper, it’s another item I wear all the time because it’s just so versatile! I love it loosely tucked in to mini and midi skirts, but it looks equally as good with a pair of jeans and trainers. I’m all about that laidback life.
I guess I can get onboard with a few more weeks of winter if my wardrobe is going to be looking this good!
I’ve rounded up a few more style picks below, I’ve found some really beaut pieces that might just find their way in to my shopping basket… I predict a Topshop haul in my future.
Where are you at with winter fashion?! Over it or still here for midi skirts and big coats?
