Beauty highlights from the past month…
This feels very old school blogging, collecting up a selection of beauty products to shoot and share with you all! I haven’t been very good at blogging (or even Instagramming!) my everyday staples, but I think it’s more because I don’t change them up very much. I’m definitely a creature of habit when it comes to my routines!
I kept a mental note of all my favourite picks over the last few weeks, so here’s a quick little rundown of why I love them.
Diptyque Eau Rose Eau De Toilette; I seem to have become completely obsessed with rose scents in the last few years, and now I find myself drawn to any sort of rosy fragrances that come my way.
I had this Eau Rose scent in a hair mist, but Diptyque have released a dreamy fragrance version just in time for Valentine’s Day. If you love soft, musky, floral fragrances, this is for you! Plus, the bottle is ADORABLE.
Chantecaille Illuminator in Brilliance; I kept browsing beauty counters for the perfect cream highlighter but I just couldn’t find the perfect warm-tinted illuminator for my complexion. I find they’re all too rose-tinted or too white, I like something that blends in to my skin tone perfectly for that soft focus glow.
I was rummaging in my makeup stash the other day and found a Chantecaille box that I hadn’t yet opened. Lo and behold, inside was the shade of highlighter I’d been searching for!
I like to pat a small amount on to cheekbones and Cupid’s Bow for the perfect shimmer, although I can imagine this would look lovely mixed in with your base for a little added radiance.
Drunk Elephant A-Passioni Retinol Cream; I’ve been meaning to tell you all about this product for a while now, I’ve been trialling it for maybe a month and it’s truly life-changing – and that’s not a term I throw around lightly!
I can honestly say I finally have clear skin thanks to retinol, and while you can of course get much cheaper versions, my skin seems to have expensive taste as I’ve seen the best results from this Drunk Elephant offering. I eased my way in to it by applying every second day at first, but it’s been fine as long as I avoid my eye area. It’s really magical stuff, you guys.
Sachajuan Ocean Mist; Okay so I’m cheating here a little because this an old staple, but I recently rediscovered it and I’m once again hooked!
I love texture in my hair, but I hate the crispiness that salt sprays usually give. Ocean Mist is one of the only salt sprays I’ve ever come across that adds wave and a touch of texture without any crunchy or heavy feeling. Jordan and I share a bottle, very cute of us.
Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector; Another old favourite is this Clarins lip perfector, which I’m rarely without! I would say I’ve been a fan of these for around 7 or 8 years now, I really think they’re the best lip pick going.
I’m incredibly low maintenance with my makeup, I rarely bother with lipstick just because I find it annoying to keep up with throughout the day/evening. These Clarins products add a flattering touch of colour with a bit of shine, and lots of hydration, without being sticky or requiring a ton of top-ups. I also love the way they smooth over your lips for a bit more of a plumper pout!
Overose Nudesse Candle; If I told you I had found the Lush Rose Jam scent in a candle version, would you believe me? Oh, and to add to that – it sits in the most perfect packaging ever!
I’ve been a long time fan of Overose, I bought my first candle a few years ago when I was in San Francisco – back when they weren’t even available in the UK! Thankfully they recently launched on Cult Beauty so they’re a little more readily available.
Nudesse has to be my favourite scent of the lot, it’s absolutely beautiful – I burn it in my office while I work on my laptop each day!
NARS Brow Perfector; I am quite particular about my brows, I get them waxed and tinted every few weeks and I like to maintain them with either a brow gel or a pencil. I’ve been through a couple of these NARS Brow Perfectors and I’ve been so impressed with them, I love a fine pencil for creating hair-like brush strokes and this creates a really natural but full look.
Honestly, I’m just obsessed with everything NARS at this point! They can do no wrong in my eyes.
Some seriously impressive products in this roundup, a few long-time favourites amongst a couple of new in heroes – have you tried any of these?
