My beauty resolutions…
I have to say, I’m all for New Year’s resolutions! Anything that gives me a bit of a kick up the butt is all good in my book, especially when it comes to my beauty routines – which I’ve definitely been slacking on lately.
December really did a number on my skin – the prosecco and chocolate diet really isn’t great for your complexion, who knew?! So now I’m making up for it with a list of must do’s for the year ahead. I hope this inspires you to jumpstart your own beauty regimes…
Mask every week
I actually really love masking, but I could be better at it. I’m a bit slap dash, applying one mask, removing it and slathering on a night cream and calling it a day (or… night).
I’d love to dedicate an evening a week to applying a couple of my favourite masks (depending on how my complexion is that week), then following it up with a few treatments and a night cream – basically just amping up my pamper routine so my skin gets a little love. Sounds easy, right?!
Lotion, lotion, lotion
I’m pretty sure this is my resolution every single year, but my reptilian skin remains un-moisturised. I’ve actually recently discovered a bit of a winner in the Glossier Body Cream so this will definitely help me in my quest to super soft pins.
My issue with applying body cream is that it’s usually super sticky and I just wanna put my PJs on straight away and ugh, it all seems like one big hassle.
Luckily the Glossier wonder sinks in instantly, so I’m well on my way to achieving this lil goal.
Switch it up on the regular
What can I say, I’m a creature of habit! I seem to use the same lineup of beauty products daily, more so when it comes to makeup. I’m usually in a bit of a hurry when I do my daily look, so I think this will be achieved by organising myself a little better (… also known as, spending less time on my phone).
I’m going to give my makeup table a nice big reshuffle this weekend to get the ball rolling – wish me luck!
Make more appointments!
Last year I made a lot more time for beauty appointments – I got my nails done regularly (at my fave NAF Salon), found my brow girl of dreams and even managed to commit to a hairdresser that has done wonders on my hair (Jack at Mesart Glasgow, if you’re wondering).
It’s really made me feel so much happier with myself, but I often found I could have been better at keeping on top of it all. 2018 is the year I schedule appointments in advance, keep on top of my brows and even make sure I have a pedicure all year round, not just before a holiday!
A little bit extra, but whatever makes you feel your best, am I right?
There’s nothing too crazy here, so hopefully with a bit of dedication I can keep at these! Have you set yourself beauty resolutions for 2018?
