October Goals.

Hello October! This is my ‘get shit done’ month; I’ve resurrected my bullet journal, planned a thorough to-do list and I plan on tying up some loose ends and picking myself up after such a busy year of travelling, wedding and celebrations!

01. Find my groove. As I said above (ALLOW ME TO ELABORATE), this year has been crazy. When 2017 arrived, I did not expect to get married, sign to management, visit New Zealand again and do a couple of US trips too! I’m still trying to get to grips with everything, especially because I seem to really fall behind when I travel a lot.
I’m excited to say I don’t have anything big planned for the rest of the year, which also means it’ll be my first Christmas in the UK in a few years (and as a married gal too!) and my first ever Christmas without my parents! Mixed feelings about that last one.
If there’s anything you’d like to see more of, maybe not so much here but definitely more on YouTube, do let me know. This is my month to get that channel of mine sorted once and for all!

02. A little relaunch. My blog has been in dire need of a new design for… well, ever really. I’ve drafted up mock design after mock design trying to find the perfect one for me, and I think it’s almost taking shape. I’m being such a perfectionist with it, which I guess is a good thing – but it does mean it’s a long, slow process! Again, any feedback or anything you’d think would work, let me know.

03. Rest up & relax. I’m going to treat this month to get my mind and body in order, I hopefully won’t have too much on, so I really want to embrace this quiet period and really find myself a little.
I usually would just snuggle up in the evenings with a book as my relaxation time, but I’m thinking of trying something else. Maybe a class or something… what do you guys do when you need some time out? I’d love to take up a new project that I can do at home, but one that doesn’t require much thought or effort!

I’ve promised myself that October is going to be a quiet month, so that’s it from me in terms of goals! Sometimes you just have to take a step back and go with the flow.
Do you have any plans for this month?

  • Also my getting s**t done month. I fell out of the habit of blogging on the regular when I moved because life was so busy. I NEED to pull myself together and get back on it! Very excited to see more YT content from you πŸ’• I could watch you and Liv Purvis all day (but then, would never get said s**t done)!

  • A quiet month sounds like exactly what you need right now! I’d love to see Youtube videos about blogging/your personal tips and advice for bloggers. Especially a “How I Take/Edit My Blog Photos” video! Or an updated “How I Edit My Instagram Photos”. Besides that, I always love your content related to interior design..and maybe some seasonal content as we head into the holidays!

Love your goal posts! Re Christmas, you guys can start your own traditions this year, I recommend a sparkling cider from M&S first thing!

Also re point three, I recently took up pottery and I love it, two hours on a Tuesday night I can get crafting. It is super relaxing and I kind of love that you do it out of the house so you don’t have to buy any gear. You can also make people presents, my recent mugs have gone down a treat!

    Enjoy October!

I’m so excited to see and read more from you! I love your vlogs and have really been missing them lately. Do you plan on doing vlogmas this year?

    • Lisa Isabelle

YES TO VLOGMAS! I was so addicted last year! πŸ™‚

  • Love the hydrangeas! (God thats hard to spell!) In my first year of uni I bought a little watercolour set and practiced my painting skills whenever I was stressed out and needed to relax! Maybe you could try a creative hobby too, it’s so satisfying to finish something and to see how you’ve progressed!

October for me is get ahead with the Dreaded Dissertation month. It’s unlikely to be successful though!

  • Sounds like you have an amazing October ahead! Can’t wait to see the new blog makeover! <3 πŸ™‚

    XO, Elizabeth

  • My plan for this month is to explore more of my city and invest in myself by taking a self-help seminar. And just start to enjoy the changing season <3

  • These are such brilliant and realistic goals, it is so refreshing to read. You have had such an amazing year so far & that takes time to process so a bit of me time sounds like the perfect plan for this month. I am so looking forwards to all the Halloween celebrations this month and for the autumn weather to set in. All the cosy vibes! I also have a to do list as long as my arm so this will be my month to conquer that.

  • Can’t wait to see your blog’s new design xx

  • Yaay I cannot wait to see your new blog design, even if it’s gorgeous as it is now:) I am sure you will be great at achieving all your goals and more! In order to relax I personally like going for long walks and at times doing a bit of colouring – I didn’t think the latter would help but once I tried it was wonderful xox

  • October is definitely the best time for relaxing.. fall kicks in and it feels so nice to slow down. Excited to see more Youtube things from ya! I always love your Q&As, and your wedding video was also a fave of mine!

I’m a bit in the same boat as you after 3 months of vacation in France (which ends on the 15). While it was INCREDIBLE to spend all summer near / in Paris (what a lucky girl I am!) at my friends house, I’m ready to go back home in Canada, leave the cheese and wine behind and jump back in my old habits of meditation, yoga and long walks (and lose the few pounds I gained… lol). I, too, need to find my groove.

I also want to try something new this fall and I decided it will be waterpainting. Let see how long this one will last! I also thought about a writing class but it was quite expensive just for being a hobby, so perhaps a 3rd language, eventually? I just don’t know which one.

Cheers to cozy fall days ahead!

  • Love your proactive yet relaxed approach to monthly goals!

  • Elisha MaΓ¨ Iveson

Love your monthly goals posts Kate and your trip to the US looked so dreamy! Happy to have you back home though to see more of your gorgeous space!

  • I really love how your blog looks, no need to change it! But I get why you would if you have to look at it everyday.

  • It’ll be my first Christmas as a married gal too! πŸ™‚ I always come back to Czech Reublic for Christmas but I think not this year. I love how realistic your goals are.

  • Totally understand the travelling. We just moved from the UK home to Australia and I’m feeling a little lost and out of my groove. Hope you get it back. Lisa x

  • So behind on the commenting, but great to hear you’re focusing on relaxation this month – I love following your day to day and you’re always doing so much fab stuff, more deserved sofa time!
