Warming Gin Cocktails.

My highlight of December is definitely that moment you get to get in to your oh so cosy Christmas PJs and snuggle up on the sofa, knowing your shopping is done, presents are wrapped and nothing is weighing over your head for a few days!
That’s when I crack open my favourite gin; Opihr Oriental Spiced gin – cumin, cardamon and grapefruit come together in this delicious concoction, and the warm, peppery flavours are perfect for chilly evenings.
Plus, the bottle is a beauty! It’s definitely a bar cart staple that stands out.

This is a recipe I created for the West Elm blog, but I wanted to share it here too. It’s one of my favourite drinks to sip during December – it just feels festive! If you like trying new gins, this is one you just have to experience…

It took me some time to work out how to serve Opihr, since it kind of holds its own. I tried a few different combinations until I settled on the perfect pairing; ginger ale. It’s fresh and flavoursome, but with a kick that is just so perfect in a winter warmer cocktail.
The burst of orange brings this to life, making it an effortless drink to put together, but also a little something to impress if you’re entertaining!

Ingredients

25ml Opihr gin
ice cubes
ginger ale
orange, sliced in to thick crescents to garnish

Method

Take a couple of pretty tumbler-style glasses and fill with ice (I love these massive !), then add a shot of Opihr to each glass.
Fill up the rest of the glass with ginger ale, then garnish with a piece of orange to finish. I also recommend running a bit of orange around the rim for a lovely zesty flavour.

That’s really all there is to it. Serve on , and cuddle up in front of the TV for the perfect Christmas evening in.

Will you be making these?
