This year’s selection process for my annual Christmas cocktails was an easy one; chocolate orange is a favourite of mine at this time of year, and I wanted something delicious and fun for parties and cosy evenings alike.
This is a super easy tipple that is heavenly to sip – I recommend making a couple before sitting down to watch Home Alone with the Christmas lights all lit up. So festive!
I struggled with a garnish with this one, but in the end we settled on chocolate orange popping candy bark. I love the idea and I think it works perfectly as a dessert-type drink.
If you’re in a hurry, just do a similar thing around the rim or skip it all together.
The below serves two.
Ingredients
150ml (6 shots) half and half (half milk, half cream)
50ml Cointreau
50ml Mozart Dark Chocolate Liqueur
Ice
Terry’s Chocolate Orange
Popping candy
Method
Add a Terry’s Chocolate Orange to a bowl over boiling water, one segment at a time. Carefully melt until smooth.
Place baking parchment on an oven sheet and then spread the melted chocolate out thinly.
Sprinkle on the popping candy, and then pop the tray in to the fridge or freezer to set.
Once set, remove and break the bark in to medium-sized pieces.
Add all the liquid ingredients plus the ice to a cocktail shaker. Pour in to Martini glasses.
Garnish with the bark, and you’re all set!
Cuddle up with a Christmas film, your fave PJs and you’re all set. Delicious!
