I mentioned a couple of times lately that I’ve been dreaming of a weekend in the countryside, so we took ourselves off to lovely Loch Lomond. This is one of my favourite places; the views are incredible, and it’s only an hour away from us, so it really is an escape from the bustle of the city!
I really wanted to have the full countryside experience, so we booked a night in Cameron House… mainly for the incredible spa! It was so beautiful, the hotel is unreal – and so Scottish! – and the views were just breathtaking.
After arriving, we went straight back out to take in the scenery as it’s so peaceful and serene around here. You can just get lost in the walkways, and the Trossachs national park is like nothing else. The perfect Scottish experience!
Wrapping up warm was an absolute must, since there was zero chance of the sun shining while we were away! I chose some pieces from the Barbour Seafarer collection to wear during my trip, and the seaside theme felt fitting for the occasion.
I’ve been after the perfect yellow jacket since last summer, but everything I’ve seen has either been too busy with details, or way too bright.
This Barbour jacket is a brilliant shade of yellow, and I got so many compliments on it! The striped sleeves and hood gave it a simple maritime feel, so I felt like the sandy shores of Loch Lomond were the perfect place to wear it.
I paired my yellow coat with a simple grey striped top, which only added to the seaside theme! Stripes are essential for summer and seaside escapes, so I chose well here – I expect I’ll be wearing this outfit a lot in the coming months.
Black skinny jeans (obviously!), and Barbour wellies completed the look. I love colour-blocking when it comes to my outfits, and the black only made my yellow coat look brighter!
The following day was spent at Carrick Spa, soaking in the infinity pool which looks out over Loch Lomond. It was heaven. I’m surprised they got me to leave actually, if I had my way I’d still be there.
We headed home, relaxed and revived, after a short walk through the grounds of the hotel around Loch Lomond – taking in the final views before it was back to city life.
Once again I was wearing my bright yellow jacket, this time with a simple printed tee underneath for a more relaxed style. There’s just something so dreamy about crisp white and pops of stripes and yellow for effortless summer dressing.
I felt thoroughly refreshed after a couple of days in the countryside! Cameron House is an absolute must see if you’re ever in the area, there’s so much to see and do – it’s like a little village on its own. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so pampered and cared for during a hotel stay, and the breakfast was incredible. I’m all about the breakfast.
