Beauty Beauty Edits Makeup

My Fresh-Faced Daily Makeup Routine.

10/06/22

*This post is in collaboration with Farfetch Beauty.

I’ve always had a very streamlined approach to beauty in general; I love products that enhance my features and elevate my complexion, rather than fully covering it up! I’m also always, always in a hurry so my routine needs to be snappy but flawless – and with a baby on the way it’s likely to only get more and more streamlined!

Despite this lowkey take on my makeup routine, I have a lot of fun with my daily looks! I adore trying new products, switching out blush for bronzer or playing around with how I apply my base. Every day I feel like although I use a lot of the same products, my makeup always looks a little different every day.

I’ve been absolutely loving my routine lately, it feels so flattering and fresh for this time of year, so I wanted to share it with you in full – along with a few tips and tricks I’ve picked up along the way too!

If you fancy treating yourself to any of my hero products featured here, make sure to head to Farfetch to shop their beauty destination – and use my code KATES for 10% off your order. You’re going to want to treat yourself after seeing this lot…

The Base Heroes

The Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter has been getting a lot of hype recently, having achieved cult status thanks to TikTok! I already used this dewy base but I’ve definitely maximised it’s potential after seeing various routines, and it’s definitely one of those products that seriously deserves the praise! I love to apply this first as a sort of prep product, dotting it over my skin and then using a damp beauty blender to gently stipple in to the face. It doesn’t replace my foundation, but I definitely use less of it and my skin looks flawless and radiant every single time.

For my foundation, I’ve been using the Surratt Beauty Dew Drop Foundation which everyone seems to love – this is a brand I tend to skip over but having tried a few of their products recently I’m now starting to regret that decision! I love the squeeze applicator, and the way the base sort of ‘becomes one’ with my skin – improving the condition without masking it with a caked on layer. I’m a big fan!

Pops Of Pink

If there’s one product I simply could *not* live without, it’s definitely blusher! It’s the missing puzzle piece that gives that polished look I love so much. I am a creamy blush gal through and through, and I adore this Natasha Denona Puff Paint Liquid Blush in Darya – the colour is perfect for pairing with bronzed skin and I find it really makes my blue eyes pop.
Recently I’ve been trying the ‘sunburnt blush’ technique I keep seeing on (you guessed it…) tiktok. I kind of stipple the last remaining product on my brush over my nose to create a warm glow to the skin. I find it breaks up the blush nicely and looks super glowy and flattering.

As I’m sure you can imagine, I am very lowkey when it comes to any sort of lip product! I tend to stick to lip balm, although recently I’ve been loving the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Pencil in Iconic Nude underneath. It’s sort of a custom lip look that looks very natural, but helps to fill out the lips a little. A simple step that takes seconds but really elevates your look!

Effortless Brows & Lashes

I don’t do much to my brows, but I do need a star player product to make the most of them! I favour thin brow pencils for creating hair-like strokes, and my current fave is the Charlotte Tilbury Brow Cheat Pencil, it’s microfine so perfect for a really natural fullness.

And of course, no look is ever finished without a couple of layers of mascara! I’m all for a natural look but I do love a good full flutter when it comes to my lashes! This Surratt Beauty Relevee Lengthening Mascara adds volume and length for maximum drama.

The Final Touches

Of course, no makeup look is complete without highlighter! I am OBSESSED with dotting liquid illuminator on my cheekbones, nose and Cupid’s Bow. Every time I do it, I can’t help but admire how gorgeous and glowy my makeup looks. I love having that simple subtle glow and I find highlighter really pulls together blush and bronzer too. You’ve no doubt heard of the Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm Beauty Light Wand Highlighter in Spotlight, but I’m here to tell you it’s worth every penny and more. I recommend it to anyone who will listen!

I never go a day without bronzer, although for years I was terrified of the stuff! A quick sweep along the hairline and swirled under cheekbones just does wonders for my complexion, it really is a bit of a miracle worker for this pasty gal. I’m really loving this Tom Ford Soleil Glow Bronzer in Gold Dust, it’s just the perfect hue for adding warmth without the orange tones.

Don’t forget to use my code KATES for 10% off your Farfetch order – valid for new and existing customers. Available to use until end of June. Brand exclusions apply, T&Cs are on the Farfetch website.

Hooray for a simple routine! Have you tried any of these products?
