Our Dining Table Set Up.

A table fit for guests…

I’ve always wanted to have a dining table setup, I love hosting and cooking so it really is my dream come true being able to set a table for my guests. I have so many beautiful bowls, plates, trays, serveware and linen so I’m never short of options when it comes to my tablescapes.
Our old flat could only really fit a small round table in it, so when I saw we had space to fit a big boy dining table in our current place, I was overly excited about the prospect of having all my friends round! Obviously we’ve lived here through the pandemic so that’s not really happened all too often, but it’s been a lovely upgrade anyway.

I was thinking the other day that I fancied changing up this living room a little in time for spring, but as it happens I really can’t imagine how else we would arrange this space – the back wall seems made for a dining table!

We had the chairs and bench from our old flat, but the table is something I bought on a whim because we needed something to eat off, and it turned out to be the perfect fit.

A lot of my plates and other bits are vintage finds, although I did recently get and I’m completely in love with it – it looks just as gorgeous stacked on our kitchen shelving as it does on the dining table!

The piped napkins are from Zara Home, although I’ve below. I have these napkins in quite a few colours and they always work wonders for sprucing up the table.
I’m currently on a colourful glassware hunt, and I’ve just seen – I might not need wine glasses for a little while but I may as well get ready for when I can resume the rosé!

I never really have too much of a theme in mind when I start to style the table, I sort of let all my favourite pieces come together. I think that’s the fun of collecting vintage glassware and various linens over the years, they never look out of place when they’re mismatched. You can always find a way of doing it in a way that looks intentional – a sort of mad hatters tea party vibe!

I’m excited for a summer of hosting little lunches and afternoon teas, this post makes me want to plan something special soon!

I’ve popped some of my favourite tableware pieces below to inspire you! Are you a fan of hosting?
