My Five Minute Makeup.

My effortless everyday look…

Admittedly, I’m rarely all that adventurous with my makeup – I’m definitely more of a slap dash person! My daily routine tends to be pretty easy breezy, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. The end result is usually pretty polished, so I’m obviously doing something right!

I’ve had a lot of Qs about my foundation favourites so I put together a no-frills guide to my favourite products for a quick everyday face. These are the products you need for a zero effort look…

Prime; I always, always use a primer, I think they are essential to getting the perfect makeup application. I usually opt for something hydrating or illuminating, ideally both. I don’t use moisturiser so I have to rely on other products to get that dewy, plump look and I find primers are my best bet. I usually use the Glossier Futuredew, which sits somewhere between skincare and makeup, giving skin a fabulously radiant finish that makes makeup look a million times more polished. Alternatively, I love the Laura Mercier Illuminating Primer*, I’m on to my second tube of this and I know I’ll consider repurchasing when I’ve finished. It applies beautifully, creates a flawless canvas for foundation, and does wonders for a parched, lacklustre complexion too!

Base; It doesn’t matter how many bases I try, I always seem to come back to the ol’ faithfuls! If I had to pick a favourite foundation, it would be a tie between the It Cosmetics CC Cream, and NARS Sheer Glow – both are similar in coverage, finish and application. The no-fuss application means I can buff them in quickly, so my morning routine is never stretched!

Cheeks; I would typically say I’m a cream cheek kinda gal, I use the NudeStix Nudies Matte Blush* almost every day! The formula blends seamlessly and stays put throughout the day – my favourite shades are Salty Siren and Sunset Strip for that rosy glow.
Saying that, I find myself reaching for the OG of blushers – NARS Orgasm*. I will never not own this cheeky hue, it really is the perfect pop of colour. One quick sweep with a fluffy brush and I look alive – which is ideal for mornings where I’m not exactly feeling it!

Brows; If there’s one product I’m so pleased to have discovered this year, it’s the Fenty Beauty MVP Brow Sculpting Pencil. This is like no other brow styler I’ve ever tried – one end is a stick of easy to slick on wax, and the other is a spoolie to tame and style those brows. I get my brows tinted, so I find something like this means effortless brows in a flash!

Lashes; I have quite a long list of criteria to tick off when it comes to mascara; I love long, voluminous lashes but most of them smudge on my brow bone throughout the day. Enter Hourglass Unlocked Instant Extensions Mascara*, a smudge-free false-lash effect mascara that gives fluttery lashes in a flash. What’s more, it dissolves easily with my usual jelly cleanser so I don’t wake up with panda eyes the following day. I’ll absolutely be repurchasing this wonder worker!

Of course, I’ll usually slick on a little eyeshadow, highlighter and even occasionally some liner if I’ve got an extra ten minutes going spare, but there are days where I just stick to the above. Sometimes less is more, and with this lot no one will ever know!

What are your go-to products for your everyday look?
