Stepping In To Spring.

A love letter to warmer weather…

Soooo, I may be acting a little prematurely in posting this but I just CANNOT contain my excitement for Spring any longer! Today officially marks the beginning of the new season and to celebrate, I’ve added a few new bits to my wardrobe – including a pair of incredibly handsome new shoes. Oh my word, they’re quite something aren’t they?

My current winter appropriate shoe collection consists of my trusty Dr Martens Chelsea Boots which, admittedly, can brave all weathers. You’ll no doubt already know this as I’ve been sporting them daily since about September, but that’s all about to change* (*weather permitting…)

I found these White Woven Courts on ASOS a few weeks ago and I was convinced they were too good to be true – they seem like the kinda shoe to hurt, don’t they? So far, so good – I gave them a test-drive (walk?) around Venice and I can confirm they’re incredibly comfy. I actually think courts are my favourite style of shoe (hi, I’m a grandma) because they’re always super easy to walk in and they look great with everything.

I have a real thing for natural textures (you may have spied the rattan, bamboo and jute slowly taking over my home!), so it’s been fun to see this trend flow over to my wardrobe too. I can imagine wearing my new footwear find with everything
– they make midi skirts look perfectly polished, add length to my legs in straight-leg jeans, and put a vintage spin on last year’s summer dresses too.

I’m overjoyed to see the basket bag trend still taking over too – I have my much loved Staud macrame number out again already and it’s bringing me so much joy! This bag has been one of my favourite purchases ever, although I didn’t dare risk taking it out on a Scottish winter day…

Along with these bleached blue denim jeans, a loose-fitting linen shirt and my staple white cat-eye sunglasses, I think I have the perfect casual spring outfit down!

What are you most looking forward to this Spring?
