June Goals.

I could do a little squeal I’m so excited about June being here! Have I ever told you how much I LOVE the warmer months? I mean, I know it doesn’t really reach double digits when it comes to the temperature in Scotland, but light evenings, picnics, holidays, day drinking… so much to be happy about!

01. June is a very, very big month for me! Actually, for both Jordan and I – we’ve got a fun trip planned, a biiig celebration, two 30th birthday parties… one of which is Jordan’s!
I was in charge of planning a little somethin’ for him, but so far I’ve drawn a blank. I’ve got a few weeks to get something sorted (yep, last minute but we’ve had a lot going on lately!), so if anyone has any ideas…

02. Make good use of my time. I’ve really been leaving my comfort zone a lot lately and agreeing to trips and opportunities that I would usually turn down. I don’t love to be super busy and stressed out, I like an easy life… but sometimes you just want a little more, you know?
The next couple of months are set to be my busiest yet, and I find that when I’m away a lot, my work starts to slip. I need to find a good balance, so I feel organised and ahead of my tasks, but also relaxed and happy with my travel plans etc. Basically, no more procrastinating for me!

03. Set myself some goals. I feel like I’m at a good stage in my life, in that I’m settled and happy, but I don’t really have any goals as such.
I’m not really working towards anything, I’m kind of bumbling along doing my thing. I want to sit down and really think about what I want from the next few years – to continue as I am? Consider a move abroad? Release a book? Time to start planning!
If anyone has any tips on writing down and focusing on your goals, I’d be very grateful…

04. A digital detox. I noticed recently that I was spending from 8am – 6pm on my computer, and then from 7pm – 11pm on my phone, whilst watching TV. So. many. screens.
I’ll also pick up my phone out of habit, when I’ve just put it down, and I refresh my emails constantly even on Sundays. It’s not good and it’s leaving me feeling a bit foggy-headed.
I’m really going to try and get better at having a detox, putting my phone away in the evenings and living in the moment! I definitely need it.

Yay for busy, eventful months. What’s on your to-do list this month?

  • June is going to be a pretty busy month for me too, but I could definitely benefit from the digital detox! I think breaking down big goals into smaller milestones always works better for me, otherwise I get too intimidated and give up…

  • This June is going to be pretty busy as I am writing my master-thesis and at the same time I’m applying for jobs…So I have two super huge goals at the moment! Leaving your comfort zone from time to time is a great goal I guess 🙂

Sounds like you have an exciting month ahead! I definitely need to put my phone down more often…it’s just so appealing haha! Feel more clear-minded when I just go outside and have a walk or step away from my screen.

  • I definitely need a digital detox! My phone is really stopping me from getting a good nights sleep! Good luck for organising Jordan’s birthday! I’ve always been a last minute planner! Xxx

  • Chloe

    That’s awesome ? post about everything ?

  • Elle

I could definitely do with a digital detox as well – I’m forever refreshing social media. Maybe I’ll try this month!

  • Oh, please do an interiors book!!! xx

  • Sounds like you’ve got such a great month planned Kate! I know what you mean about a digital detox, I’m going to start turning my phone off at 9pm-8am, did it the other day and felt so much more relaxed and rested in the morning xxx

  • how is it june already? i can’t believe it. having a digital detox is so good. i was in denmark last week and barely looked at my phone or laptop and it was so good. i’m way more motivated now.

  • Hope he doesn’t read the comments? My friend is doing ’30 gifts’ for her boyfriend’s 30th x

  • It sounds like you have a wonderful June planned out! I am in need of a digital detox as well. No better time than the Summer to ditch the cell phone and spend the day outside!

    xoxo Mollie

  • Couldn’t agree more on wanting an easy life! I like to keep things as stress-free as possible, but also, every now and then like to do something out of my comfort zone!

Sounds like you have a lovely month ahead, good luck with the birthday planning for Jordan!

  • Please do share your experience and any tips for the digital detox, please! x

  • Can’t wait to hear about your celebration! I’ve been trying to figure out how to celebrate mine later this year. A digital detox is a great idea! It’s hard when there are shows to watch and blog posts to catch up on. Getting outside seems like the easiest way to detox. For your goals, try breaking them down to what you want to accomplish three months from now, one year from now, three years from now, and lifetime. Then list all the steps and time them out. I’ve tried looking at other people’s bucket/goals lists for inspiration too. Speaking of, I want to make a summer to-do list ASAP!

A digital detox is interesting but I don’t know if I can achieve such thing… Maybe I will try it out, new month new me! Love your goals list <3

  • Loved this post, inspired me to make my own list tomorrow too!

  • Those are some excellent goals! I will do this, this month too!x

  • 看您的博客就要有种“雾里看花”的意境。

  • Such beautiful goals!
My goal is: spending more time writing my book.

  • Loving all of this month’s goals, especially the digital detox! Sounds like a great plan! 🙂 <3

  • I really need to start packing my hospital bay for me and baby. It’s one of those jobs I keep putting off. I’ve got quite a lot to do this month baby-related things, exciting but scary at the same time!

Sounds like a really exciting month! Just make sure to take care of yourself in the process and giving yourself some me-time/pampering!
June will also be very busy – running a 5K marathon, a LOT of birthday celebrations, mother-in-law visiting, going away this weekend to the cottage…all fun stuff but busy indeed, especially when you have a full-time job, a blog, and workout 4-5 times per week!!

  • Heather Mhari McGreevy

A very big month indeed!! Congratulations, feel so happy for you and Jordan!! xxx

  • Heather Mhari McGreevy

p.s I felt a bit of pressure planning my boyfriends 30th but realised just doing the things that make you happy is what’s most important… it really doesn’t need to be more than that 🙂 Happy Birthday Jordan!! x

  • Zohra

  • Yes, loving ❤️ the number 4 ? goal … it’s always good to disconnect and reflect every once in a while. With so much digital commotions going on, it’ll be the ultimate treatment for the mind and well being! 🙂 ?

  • I love a Digital Detox. I just did one for a few days and I feel so refreshed. So you will love it. I need to sit down and plan my life a little too. Feeling a little lost right now. If you released a book, I can see a beautiful coffee table book with a blush pink cover. Heck, even if you published a book of just your instagram feed it would be a smash! I wrote about my Goals for June over on my blog. I just need to start being real with my feelings, purchase a few luxe beauty products for my wedding and get my huuur and nails done. So excited! I feel like I should leave the link, but that might be a bit rude.

    Much Love,

  • A digital detox is definitely on the cards for me as well, I’m off for three months now, as I’ve finished college so hopefully that’ll give me some time to do that – also congrats on getting married lovely!

  • Setting goals and digital detox is a must. As a blogger I feel we are obsessed with social media to the point where its so not healthy…we can’t put the phone down for 10 minutes! http://www.onesliceoflemon.com

  • I definitely need some detox and better time management, it’s so easy to get stuck staring at a screen and not actually doing anything!
