My favourite finds of the past year…
I’m a sucker for anything that might improve my life, even if only in the smallest way. I love seeing these roundups of beauty favourites, kitchen essentials, home finds and other must haves – I find it so helpful to see what other people really rate.
I thought long and hard about this list of my own favourite finds, even going back through my orders, Instagram uploads and Notes app to see what I’ve really used and loved this year. As such, my list is a bit random, but these items really have made my life simpler, easier or better in some way!
Here’s the list, in no real order…
Yep, this was the year I really stuck with the gua sha routine! Mainly because I discovered this one, and it just feels so good to use! Cooling on the skin and lovely as part of your skincare routine.
Heating Pad
One thing about me is that I’m always cold. Always. This little heating pad is small enough to be carted around the house (to the sofa, desk, and in bed at night!) but it really packs a punch. It’s so much better than sticking the heating on!
I discovered these style of trousers when I was pregnant and have bought a few more versions since. Flattering, available in a bunch of colours and oh so comfy!
These are perfect for layering under knitwear and loungewear, I don’t go a day without wearing one!
These were my find of the year! I had been looking at something much more expensive and just couldn’t find a cheaper alternative until M&S released these. I love them!
I never bothered with eye cream until I had a baby, and now I never skip it. This Fresh eye cream is my favourite, I really see and feel a difference when I use it.
Ahh the best! I’ve been wearing this set for a while, they wash and tumble dry so well and feel great to throw on when you want to be cosy.
This is my favourite piece for pulling an outfit together, and it looks great as a jacket or buttoned up like a jumper. I wear it like loungewear or out with a nice pair of trousers. It’s so comfy and versatile.
These are a cult find for a reason! I mix a couple of drops in with my primer for a lovely warm glow.
My reading light
I love reading in bed at night but I don’t like having the too-bright lamp on because it ruins the cosy vibes. Instead, I have a reading light which helps me to keep the ambience but still get a few chapters in before sleepy time.
My favourite Saturdays involve a big tidy of the house and lighting this candle, it is the most delicious, clean scent ever! I recommend it to everyone.
Knife Sharpener
I’ve always been intimated by knife sharpeners, I thought you had to do it a certain way. Anyway, it turns out all my knives were blunt as hell, and this is the easiest gadget to use ever!
A little treat to myself, I’ve had this set on my wishlist for ever and finally managed to nab it in the sale. I’m obsessed!
Match Striking Dots
If you’re a candle lover, you need these handy match dots. I clean out old Diptyque candle jars, fill with matches and stick these dots to the bottom. So cute for keeping out on display!
One of my favourite and most worn wardrobe additions is this knitted vest – it looks so chic, especially over a long sleeve blouse.
I’m quite particular about my PJs, they need to be a nice, soft, warm material in winter because our room is freezing! I will recommend this Uniqlo set to anyone who’ll listen, they’re SO cosy.
I have been an Estrid subscriber for years now but only discovered their shave gel last year. I mean, it makes sense that they would have the shave gel nailed, but for some reason I was still surprised at how good is it. So handy to keep in the shower for daily/weekly shaves.
Butchers block for the kitchen
Since having a baby I feel like I’m forever cutting snacks and meals, for her and for me. Having a butchers block has been such a game-changer, no need to grab a plate or cutting board every 10 mins!
Skin+Me Oil Free Daily Defence SPF
I’ve always had a hard time finding a good SPF, until I discovered this simple Skin+Me formula. It’s lightweight, doesn’t sting the eyes and doesn’t break me out. It’s 10/10 from me.
And an honoury mention to , I was gifted this (and worked with the brand) but it is one of my favourite discoveries of the year. If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know I’m big on looking after my teeth and although I’ve always been an Oral B girly, as soon as my old toothbrush broke, I knew I wanted to try the Suri brushes. It’s softer but makes my teeth feel cleaner and the battery life is incredible!
What a list! Have you tried any of these? What’s your favourite purchase of 2023?
