It’s here! Summer has arrived. After possibly the longest, darkest, coldest winter, we are finally in the linen-wearing, picnic-having, sea-swimming, bbq-throwing days of summer. I could not be happier!
I’ve always loved the lighter longer evenings, waking up to sunshine and being able to get outdoors more, I just feel like I have such a happier, more active lifestyle in the summer. Plus, the long evenings mean it feels like you have an extra day after work – it really does feel pretty special.
Mornings In The Garden
Now we have a garden, I have a bit of a morning ritual which involves throwing open the French doors and sitting on outside with a cup of tea. It’s a bit of time I carve out for myself each day and I always feel ready for the day after some morning sunshine and a caffeine hit.
My uniform at the moment is made up of a loose knitted top and shorts, it’s such an easy everyday outfit that I can wear to take Dahlia to the park, get some work done at my laptop or grab coffee from the place down the road. I’m wearing the , you’ll be seeing a lot of this sea blue hue in my wardrobe at the moment. I can’t get enough of it!

Beach Days
We had our first trip to the beach this week, and although it wasn’t as relaxing as pre-baby trips to the seaside, I loved being able to splash in the sea with my girl. We went late in the day and stayed until we started to get cold, picking at a picnic in-between dashes in to the ocean.
For the journey home, I threw on a pair of , after spending most of year trying to find the perfect pair of white jeans, I have hit the jackpot with these! Even post-baby, they fit so well and are flattering on the legs.
I tied this around my shoulders and the whole outfit was fun but effortless.
Al Fresco Dining
We’ve been hunting for the perfect outdoor table for our new garden, but in the meantime we’ve made do with a gingham tablecloth on the dining table. I made Jord’s favourite burrata and nectarine salad for the first time this year, and it went down a treat! I can’t wait to every meal outside from now on – it certainly makes the weaning mess a little more manageable!
I wore this gorgeous halterneck Seasalt Cornwall midi dress, the burnt orange colour is just perfect and I love the loose fit on warm evenings!
After Work Swims
Now it’s getting warmer, I’m making the most of the extra light and heading to the beach or pool for a dip. I can’t tell you how good it feels to close my laptop, pack my towel and go for a dip before dinner. I feel so lucky that this is our life now – it definitely makes that exhausting move down worth it!
I’ve been wearing these comfy Seasalt Cornwall Hazy Days espadrilles a lot lately, they’re so easy to style with most of my wardrobe – from loose linen shorts to floaty midi dresses. They’re a bit of a staple for me at the moment!
