My Summer Beauty Staples.

On my ‘most loved’ list right now…

There is just something about switching out your beauty routines for summer that feels like a fresh start! There’s a bit of optimism to it (especially in Scotland), as well as a feeling of turning over a new leaf – opting for lighter products, upping the glow, trying new seasonal, summery releases. I just love the feeling of reworking my routine for the warmer months!
I’m not sure if it’s being 8 months pregnant or just feeling happier in my skin, but I’ve really embraced the lowkey look even more lately. My skin is looking great, I have more of a glow because I’ve got a really solid routine of staple products, and I just feel my best come summer anyway!

I have really discovered some absolutely wonderful beauty buys over the last few months and I just had to share them with you in a lovely summery edit…

Supergoop Glow Screen SPF30; I have a little bit of a confession to make… I have never regularly worn SPF. I would put it on if the sun was shining, but otherwise it just didn’t seem to be worth the hassle. Every formula I tried either caused me to break out in spots, ran in to my eyes throughout the day so badly I couldn’t see, or seemed to sap the hydration from my skin altogether. I went through tube after tube, always trying brands everyone else seemed to love, but nothing ever worked for me. That was until I found Glow Screen, the perfect barely there formula that doesn’t irritate my complexion at all. It has enough of a tint to blur imperfections and it feels weightless once applied, ticking literally every box for me! I am finally, finally able to wear SPF daily and not have any negative side effects – hooray for that!

Tan Luxe The Gradual Illuminating Tan Lotion*; I recommend this no-fuss fake tan to everyone, it really makes light work of getting a glow. It seems pretty infallible too – the dreamy, easy to apply formula never gives me streaks or tan hands. I apply it before I go to bed for an impressive, buildable dose of colour come morning, or whenever I need a hit of colour in a flash. If you’re new to the faux glow, or even a seasoned expert, this one is for you!

Summer Fridays Babymoon Belly Balm; I’ve said before that my skin has been super parched since getting pregnant and it really hasn’t eased up throughout – I’ve just found ways to deal with it. I’ve become incredibly diligent at applying lotion on the regular – and my fave bump balm is this one from Summer Fridays. A lightweight balm that sinks in instantly for smooth, hydrated skin in a flash. I am the laziest of the laziest right now but even I can manage a daily application of this dreamy balm.

Loewe 001 Woman Eau De Toilette; Navigating fragrance and pregnancy is a bit of a mission, and after going off a lot of my other perfumes I decided to treat myself to this Loewe number. I am obsessed with it, although who knows if it’ll smell the same once I’ve had this baby. I’ll keep you posted on that, but for now – this is my summer staple!

Rose Inc Lip & Cheek Colour in Heliotrope*; I really don’t think I would have bought many Rose Inc products if I hadn’t been sent a lovely parcel to try, although since then there has been a whole lot of hype so maybe I would have been inclined to try! A silly move on my part perhaps, as the products are incredible! Seriously, seriously impressive – there’s not a single release I’ve tried that hasn’t received 5 stars from me. I love this warm, creamy blush gently stippled in to skin for a flawless flush, it’s just the perfect colour and finish for me!

Summer Fridays Heavenly Sixteen All In One Facial Oil*; Another Summer Fridays staple, they really are a brand who know what they’re doing! This dreamy concoction is my saviour right now – it’s hydrating without being heavy, instantly sinking in to skin without the tacky finish. I use it day and night as the last step in my skincare routine and always love how my skin looks and feels afterwards!

Beauty Pie Triple Hyaluronic Acid Deep Moisture Miracle Cream; Another brand that will always, always have a place in my routine is Beauty Pie. I am such a huge fan of their approach to beauty in general, and their products never ever miss. The Triple Hyaluronic Acid range is one of my faves, and this moisturiser is happy, hydrated skin in a tub. Perfect for parched complexions that need a pick me up – I use it every morning for supple, soothed skin.

Rose Inc Skin Enhance Tinted Serum*; One of my favourite finds this year has to be this incredible tinted serum, it has replaced two or three products in my routine because it does the job on its own. Perfect for layering under your base for the ‘less is more’ look, or using alone for a fresh-faced finish. It’s super perfecting so I never really have to do much else to my skin after application, so perfect for minimal makeup routines. A must have for sure!

Caudalie Moisturising Mask*; My favourite once-a-week treat for a dehydrated complexion, this mask is just the ticket for skin that has caught the sun or is feeling the effects of a heavy weekend. I apply a good, thick layer on a sunday night, leave for 15 mins and then tissue off a bit before massaging the rest in. It really sets me up for the week ahead!

Drunk Elephant Sunshine Drops; A new addition to my routine, these bronzing drops are the perfect pick me up for skin that’s looking a little lacklustre. You can mix a drop or two in to just about any product – your SPF, moisturiser, foundation… even primer. It gives skin a lovely, glowy boost and also has some protecting properties in there too. I love using this on days when I can’t be bothered fake tanning my face!

Some seriously fabulous products here – I really went overboard when I was jotting down my reviews there but I had so much to say about this lovely lot! I wasn’t kidding when I said summer beauty is my jam, huh?

Have you tried any of these?
