In my makeup bag…
Something I always seem to do, often even without planning to, is switch up my makeup bag for the seasons. As soon as spring/autumn arrive, I slowly swap out bases, blushers and bronzers to fit the changing weather – it just makes sense to rummage for old favourites, seek out those staples and generally have a bit of a makeup sort out!
: I’m yet to come across a Beauty Pie product that doesn’t get the thumbs up from me, and this Illuminating Primer is one of my absolute must haves! It’s the perfect product for creating a dewy complexion, and it has a touch of tint to even out skin tone and create a base for foundation. I swear by it – it’s lovely on it’s own on lazy days too.
: Forever my number one foundation, although I do tend to reach for it more often in winter. It’s on the medium/full side when it comes to coverage, but it really does create the most seamless base! I’ve been through bottles upon bottles of Sheer Glow, it will always be a staple in my makeup bag.
*: I never would have imagined I would be a creamy bronzer kinda gal (too much can go wrong!!), but Solar Paint makes light work of getting a glow. I use it to warm up my complexion and for a bit of sculpting action, blending it in to my hairline and under my cheekbones. It’s hard to mess up, I promise!
: I was persuaded to buy this by my bestie who swears by it, but I have to admit it did take me a while to get used to it. I actually bought the Brow Set but the pencil (albeit amazing!) is a little dark for me, so I usually use my Brow Wiz pencil and then go over with the Refy Brow Sculpt. It’s easy to overdo it which can make the brows have a white tint to them, but I am finally getting the hang of it. It’s great if you like fluffy brows, and I can imagine it works wonders on laminated brows too.
: Another NARS product that I can be without is the eyeshadow quad, I always pack this for travelling and filming because it’s the smallest but most versatile palette I own and I adore every shade. I tend to stick to the bronze-y shades but it’s lovely to work in the berry hue every now and again. I really think you just can’t go wrong with NARS shadows!
: If I had to pick a makeup look to wear all winter, it would be bronze eyeshadow, berry blusher and a nude lip! I always work in the Cloud Paint in Storm as soon as autumn hits and I love how flattering it is on the skin. Less is more though, I’m always surprised at the colour pay-off with this.
Jones Road Just A Sec in Bronze*: A new addition to my makeup bag, Bobbi Brown’s new range Jones Road does not disappoint! I really love Bobbi’s ethics when it comes to beauty products and I’m really using quite a few products from the brand – namely this creamy shadow pot in a beautiful bronze burst of shimmer. Easy to apply and with a crease-proof finish, it’s a makeup bag must have for me.
A really lovely mix of autumnal products that I would recommend to anyone! Do you shake up your makeup for the seasons?
