It’s beginning to look a lot like…
I’ll be honest, the only room we ever really decorate for Christmas is our living room! It’s the room we spend the most time in, and with the Christmas tree and all the other decorations we’ve collected over the years it just feels like everything has a place now!
Of course, this is our first Christmas in our new place – and it’ll be our first Christmas just the two of us – so it’s been so fun to create a beautiful festive space in which we can relax in every evening.
Our green shelves had a bit of an overhaul and they’re looking cuter than ever, and Jordan decorated the tree very nicely this year (I don’t know why but I always leave this job up to Jordan!).
So I thought I’d give you a little tour of the room now it looks like a winters dream! I don’t really have a theme when it comes to my Christmas decor, although I do tend to stick to white and gold throughout – it’s just what I’ve acquired over the years and never seem to get bored of.
On to the decorations…
Most of what we have has been collected over the years, but I did buy a couple of new bits from Arket, which I had previously never shopped at. They had these beautiful white magnetic snowflakes, which I just knew would look beautiful on our green shelving.
A lot of what I picked up is actually sold out now, but I did see this set which looked pretty similar, and I’ll link to some similar items below too.
Our tree is actually fake, we bought it last year after I swore I’d never spend another minute hoovering up pine needles! And do you know what? I don’t regret it! We found one that looks real but has lights fitted already so you don’t need to worry about the dreaded unravelling.
In terms of other home updates I do for the holidays, I usually gather up any kind of Christmas scented candles (gingerbread, pine & eucalyptus all being notes I adore!) and dot them around the room.
I fill rattan baskets with dried orange slices, sticks of cinnamon and pinecones and add fresh eucalyptus throughout the flat too.
Our bar cart also gets an overhaul of course, out comes the Bailey’s, Amaretto and all the prosecco I can convince Jordan to buy! I was lucky enough to work with Anthropologie recently so to say that my bar cart is poppin’ would be an understatement. It is KITTED OUT.
I love this room so much when it feels all festive and cosy, it really is such a dreamy space to relax in! If you’re a fan of my simple festive decor, I’ll add some more ideas below for you to shop if you so wish!
