Beauty Makeup

An Unexpected Eyeshadow Favourite.

I think this is the first photo on here that features a seriously well-loved makeup product! I usually prefer to grab a new one to photograph but I had to show you just how much I adore this beaut eyeshadow…

My staple eyeshadow comes as part of a duo, because they really compliment each other and I also find they set in place for the entire day.
I’ve had so, so many compliments since I started wearing this combo, it really is a fabulous way to inject a little sparkle in to your life, but without going overboard.
I adore playing with makeup, but big, smoked up looks never suit me so I’m glad I’ve found an everyday look that’s playful without being OTT.

So, the routine. First up I apply a base to set and add a bit of colour; this is the , a taupe-y beige that offers only the smallest hint of shimmer. I think of this as being matte, it really does offer only a hint of hue.
It’s the perfect priming colour to set the second shadow, but it also looks gorgeous on its own – I smudge a little in to lower lashes for a more dramatic look, on occasion.

Make sure lids are free of any oil and makeup, and then lightly add the cream colour. I tend to use a finger as the application is a lot more even.

Next up is the real star of the show; . This is all glitter, there’s no colour behind it so it makes sense to layer it up over a cream colour.
I never thought I’d be in to a shimmery shadow, but this is so pretty once applied. It catches the light, but otherwise it’s quite minimal.
I use clean fingers again to tap on product until I have a good amount of coverage. It’s mesmerising!

It’s such a simple duo, but the result is so flawless – such a lovely way to awaken eyes and bring them to attention without going heavy on liner or harsh hues.

What do you think of this duo? I shared the look in action in my new video, an everyday makeup routine…
