You may have clocked my perfume drawer already – it’s overflowing with magnificent glass bottles, many of them from Jo Malone. I love the fresh, sophisticated scents from the brand, all unique, all incredibly luxe.
It’s almost time for the brand’s annual release; a signature fragrance added to the main arch every September. This years addition is both herby and musky – just what I look for in a scent.
Meet – a fresh, woody pick that I’ve been spritzing on daily! I love this pairing of notes as the result is so ‘played down’. Not sickly sweet, but not overly sharp either. It’s a very wearable combination, and it layers beautifully with many of the other Jo Malone fragrances.
I have to say, I first thought this was way too powdery for me, there’s something in the way the neroli sits on the skin at first that just put.me.off. After the notes settle though, it’s a touch more creamy and the basil diffuses much of the musky scent, balancing it out beautifully.
This is probably not a scent for everyone, but it’s easily one of my favourite releases from the brand. It’s effortless and understated, and not too girly for everyday wear!
It’s a really well-matched mix of notes, it almost gets better on me as the day wears on. Plus, the packaging is (of course!) entirely flawless… I just can’t get enough of those pretty bottles.
Definitely something to sample if you’re eyeing up something new for your seasonal scent!
