It probably feels like I never wear SPF because I don’t ever really mention my daily protection on here. I assure you, I’m really big on wearing sun protection, but I rarely change up my everyday products. They’re just so darn good that I never really feel the need to wear anything else…
My (New Zealand-born) mum has always, always taught me the importance of keeping my skin protected from the sun, and so I’m very careful whether I’m on holiday or under the cloudy Glasgow skies.
Allow me to introduce you to a couple of products that I swear by…
I like a skincare/makeup hybrid when it comes to my daily face protection; something that feels silky and lightweight on the skin, but without the greasy, wet look. It sounds pretty simple, but you’d be surprised at how hard it is to find a non-greasy SPF!
My favourite has to be this Chanel find – it’s incredibly light on the skin, and it feels like primer once applied. It really helps to smooth and perfect, ready for makeup application.
What’s more, there’s a few different factors. I tend to stick to SPF50 as it’s the highest, but I’d feel happy with 30 too.
The only issue with this is that it’s a little pricey, so if you’re looking for something on a budget, I’d recommend the Olay 2in1 Lightweight Lotion or the . Both feel lush on the skin and offer that sort of ‘primed’ feel once applied. Heaven.

As for body, well there’s really only one product I ever reach for! This Clarins oil is in spritz form, making it perfect for home or away. I use this if I’m sitting in the park, or on holiday – something about the way it makes your skin glow, and the ease of application really appeals to me!
The best bit? You can apply it anywhere – it even protects the hair. You may not have thought about protecting your hair, but it’s essential. Colour lasts longer and hair is in better condition when it’s protected from the harmful rays.
I usually stick to SPF30, even though I’m not one to burn. I just feel like it offers more protection, and it makes me feel more comfortable to be out in the sun.
That’s it – two products that I use day in, day out. Do you have any protecting favourites?
