Unsurprisingly, my trip to New York earlier this month led me straight to the Glossier Showroom. My main priorities on the trip were: 1. get married 2. buy as much Glossier as I possibly can.
I achieved both, you’ll be pleased to know.
The showroom is different than I expected, set in an office space with an elevator that opens right on to the showroom. Inside, only testers are out on display and the assistants help you to fill out little checklists to choose your products. This way you can spend some time testing everything out before you pick what you want.
Personally, I didn’t love the checklist idea – I ended up missing out a few products I would have loved to have tried! Like the SPF and the Cloud Paints, somehow I didn’t see them on the form and ended up leaving without them. Sad times (but an excuse to head back!).
Anyway, here’s what I did get…
Brace yourselves.
Glossier Phase One Set; This handy kit contains the coveted Milky Jelly Cleanser, a gorgeously soothing product that melts away makeup and leaves the skin feeling fresh. I love that this doesn’t strip the skin, it really is a delight to use.
Also included is the Priming Moisturizer, a lovely light day cream that preps the skin for makeup, leaving the complexion glowing and healthy. I love this but it can be a tad on the light side!
Finally, there’s the Balm Dotcom. This comes in quite a few colours and flavours but I went up for straight up original. I love this as lip balm, but the multi-purpose properties truly sell it to me!
Glossier Super Glow; this treatment has the texture of water, but it’s packed with Vitamin C and Magnesium to perk up the complexion and even out tone over time. I love this as it feels like I’m not using anything at all! I’ll keep you posted on my progress with this one…
The Mask Duo; I was most excited about getting my hands on these cuties – two masks, one designed to detox, one meant for moisturising.
The Mega Greens Galaxy Pack is applied first to draw out impurities and promise a lovely, clear complexion. The Moisturising Moon Mask is a plumping, smoothing and brightening concoction that transforms the skin! I adore both, although I do have a bit of anxiety over using them up before I can get to the Showroom again!
Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint; Another product I really, really wanted to get my paws on; this is a lightweight but miracle-working tint that evens out tone and leaves the skin looking perfected and dewy. From first use, I was blown away by how dreamy this is! It blends so well, and spot scars and redness are camouflaged without the cakey finish. Divine.
Stretch Concealer; I picked this up on a whim, but it’s actually one of my favourite finds. I don’t usually love pot concealers but I’ve found a way around this – I use my Artis Brush to pick up product and improve application.
This is amazing for days where you want to wear the aforementioned Skin Tint but need a little extra coverage. It. Conceals. Everything. You need this.
Glossier Haloscope in Quartz; I’ve heard so much about this skin-transforming highlighter, and I deliberated for ages over which shade to get, eventually settling on Quartz. Oh my god, this just works wonders! It’s such a natural, dewy highlight… it’s very hard to go back to using powder illuminators after discovering this little gem.
Quite the haul my dudes, but definitely a brand I’m smitten with. Now, who’s going to do a Glossier run for us all?!
