My month in May…
May is probably my favourite month, we always seem to have the best weather and it feels like the start of summer – so many plans and memories laid out ahead of us!
I have a reasonably busy one, lots of social plans and some exciting house stuff… a good mix of work and play I think.
01. I’m still in New Zealand and having such a great time, I feel like I’ve really fallen in love with it this trip. I grew up here for the first ten years of my life, but I’ve always considered myself Scottish. This trip I’ve realised how much I feel at home in New Zealand in a way, it is literally like coming home! We’ve explored quite a bit this time, including Auckland and Waiheke Island, as well as Blenheim, Nelson and up towards Abel Tasman. I might share some of the photos I’ve taken at some point, it really is such a beautiful country!
02. I’m home for a few days and then Jordan and I are heading to London to see a band we both love. They’re called Better Oblivion Community Center and we were super lucky to get tickets! It’s been a while since we were both in London together and I always love our time there, although we are yet to plan much. Probably just dinner, the gig and maybe brunch the next day – I’m keen to try out the bottomless brunch at Hubbard and Bell, has anyone been?!
03. As much as I’ll miss New Zealand, I’m looking forward to getting back and making a start on our new flat! I really want to strip out the whole thing, lay some herringbone floors and get all the woodwork and walls tidied up.
I’ll plan the kitchen and bathroom later – I really want to do it slowly and enjoy the process since we won’t be living there. I’ll try and document it as much as possible on here and my Instagram!
04. The other night I sat with my family and we caught up on my show! I’m sure you all know my now, I feel like I’ve mentioned it a lot, but if you did miss it – I filmed a TV show last summer that is currently being aired on the new BBC Scotland channel. You can catch it on iPlayer here, and it’s a great watch if you’re in to nosying around people’s beautiful homes.
The final episode airs at the end of the month and my friends wanted to gather to watch it, so that’s something to look forward to!
I know I’m biased but I really do think it’s a great little series, so well edited and an easy, fun watch – I’m proud to have been part of something so impressive, and I really appreciate all your lovely messages! I’m honestly over the moon that you’ve enjoyed it so much!
That’s my month in a nutshell! What’s on the cards for you lot?!
