Five Good Things.

morning9

I’m up early today – typical, the one day I don’t have anything to get up for – so I’m going to do a bit of life admin and housework before a chilled afternoon of editing. Exciting, huh?
Here’s what’s been going on with me lately…

01. This week was a bit a slow one, because I hadn’t been sleeping well and felt a bit restless! I’m planning on catching up on life today, and also maybe doing some healthy baking! I might make a banana loaf and some protein balls – I’m so bad for snacking! Any recipes I should whip up while I’m in the kitchen?

02. As much as I’ve enjoyed being home these last few weeks, I’m back to dreaming about a sunny escape! I’d love to see some sun again – especially as my family are currently in the Bahamas so I’m seeing their updates all the time! A sunny weekend away would do me just fine! Anyone got anything planned? We are thinking about booking a big trip away at the end of summer, maybe somewhere exotic. I have no idea where though…

03. We painted our front door this week – mint on the outside, pink on the inside! It looks so nice, and it’s really brightened up the place. I showed some snaps on Snapchat, so some of you may have already seen. If not, look out for the updates in my next weekly vlog! I have a few home updates to show you actually, so get pumped for that.

04. I started reading a new book yesterday and I can barely put it down; The Mistake I Made is kind of one of those books you read just to find out what happens, but I’ve actually really enjoyed it. Of course, I’m going to need something else to read in a few hours so send me any recommendations!

05. I need to film my evening routine, to go alongside the morning routine I uploaded last weekend, so I think I’ll get on with that this weekend. My evenings are so chilled and very uneventful, but I like routine videos – they’re so calming! I also have a Q&A to film, and a beauty haul… then I might move on to skincare routines! I doubt I’ll do all that this weekend, but it’s good to have a plan, huh!

What’s new with you guys this week?

A banana loaf sounds incredible, I love making myself either peanut butter or cinnamon and honey granola- I’d really recommend you try it!

I’m also dreaming of somewhere sunny, luckily I’m actually heading to Hawaii in the next few weeks so that should satisfy my current travel cravings.

I had been finding it really hard to sleep too – it’s gotten really humid here and that just makes things ten times worse. i started doing yoga again earlier on in the week though and that’s helped masses, I would definitely recommend giving it a go and seeing if it helps. Your door sounds SO pretty. I can’t wait to move into my own home and start doing things like that

I had a look at the book you mentioned and I hold you responsible for buying 9 books for holiday reading 🙂

  • I hope you are having an amazing weekend.

  • I’m the same when it comes to snacking, I’m awful! I made pancakes the other week and they were lovely, only 4 ingredients (bananas, eggs, almond butter and cinnamon), so delicious with fruit, plus not as bad as the Lindt chocolate with orange that I usually reach for…

  • I haven’t been sleeping the best either. The weather has been dreary for the past week, but the forecast for the coming week is looking up! I have my last week of exams left, and then I’m free!! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s

They were the perfect shades of mint and pink! Looking forward to the video. x

  • I’m a total snack queen! And I definitely have my go-tos which work well for me. I love blueberries, full fat Greek yogurt, pumpkin seeds and walnut as my “second breakfast.” My other snacks are usually dates with salted almonds and then pumpkin seeds (and sometimes chocolate chips). These protein chews from Oh She Glows are insanely delicious. You need to try them! I imagine you can use a different nut butter if you’re not into peanut butter. http://ohsheglows.com/2011/01/14/no-bake-chocolate-peanut-butter-chews/

  • I’m definitely dreaming about a sunny escape too! We’re about to enter winter here in Melbourne and it’s been raining all day. I need a sunny holiday!

Have you read the girl with the dragon tattoo series? That’s amazing! I know exactly how you feel about coming home from somewhere though, I’ve recently been travelling and had the worst travel blues ever.. it’s difficult to explain as well so you end up keeping it to yourself xx

  • Gorgeous desk space. For sleeping I would definitely recommend the This Works Pillow Spray if you haven’t tried it. Changed my sleeping life!

  • Holly Olivia

Your front door sounds like something from my dreams and if your looking for a really good book to read next you could try The Great Gatsby, it’s one of my all time favourites! x

  • Sounds like a productive week, but I know what you mean about feeling restless sometimes despite all of it – sometimes, the body just feels that way! A little sunny escape should definitely do the trick 🙂 And thanks for the great book recommendation! Can’t wait to pick up a copy for myself as well!

  • Check out Distress Signals by Catherine Ryan Howard as your next book. It’s a really good mystery set on board a cruise ship. I couldn’t put it down!

  • Lucy Birchall

Totally craving a holiday to somewhere sunny right now. I swore we wouldn’t go on holiday this year but I’ve been wanting to go to Greece for so long, and seeing every blogger at the moment there isn’t helping! There are some good deals I’ve eyed up in September but I may just do a last minute job and hope for the best, ha!

I LOVE your new front door, it’s so cute! It just makes me excited to own my own place one day….!
I whipped up some Carrot Cake Muffins today from Madeleine Shaw’s new book and they’re delicious! Last week I also whipped up some ‘Not-ella’ chocolate energy balls (heh), and they were divine! Really truly and tasted really naughty.

We Were Liars is one of those books you’ll literally have to read in a day because you can’t stop! xx

  • That book sounds like a great read!

  • Love the door idea, so clever to paint both sides a contrasted shade – need to add you on the snaps!
