We spent the start of the month in Brighton, which was so lovely – despite the crazy storms they were having! Brighton is a place I’ve explored on a small scale before, so I was beyond excited to go back and see what we could find.
We stayed at the Artist Residence, a beautiful hotel with incredible interiors – a lot of which are done by local artists. I really recommend staying here if you’re ever in Brighton, the staff are so lovely and it’s amazing value for money. Breakfast is delish, and we had dinner at the Set Cafe one night, which was also incredibly good and a very fun dining experience.
Let’s not forget that they also have the Cocktail Shack; a cocktail bar with beside-the-beach inspired interiors. So cute!
A lot of the time was spent wandering, as there’s just so much to stumble upon in Brighton. I loved Sydney Street as it had Gunns Florist (so many beautiful blooms to photograph!), Posh Totty Designs – a cute jewellery shop with incredible interiors, The Flour Pot Bakery – I didn’t try the cakes but they looked AMAZING and Pelicano, another beaut coffee shop.
Also in the area is Magazine, an entire shop dedicated to magazines. Hen – a cute, simple chicken restaurant with a good selection of beers.
I also love Snoopers Paradise for all the knick knacks they have on display! Their sunglasses stash is also awesome, and they have a photobooth inside. With a Darth Vader mask.
Black Mocha was another cute coffee shop we found, they had Guinness Cake and it was divine. Mmmm.
We picked up a few records in Resident, a really cool, well stocked independent record store in the Laines.
It’s a bit further away, but 42@SIX is also worth a visit if you love cold-pressed juice and mylk. The interiors in here are lovely, and the juices are some of the best I’ve tried!
As you can see, it was a really chilled few days of exploring and drinking coffee! It was easy to just wander and find a few interesting shops, then settle down for a hot drink later.
I’ll no doubt be back in Brighton soon, as it is such a delightful little city! We also filmed a vlog if you want to see the trip in action…
Anyone fancy a trip to the seaside?
