A Sunday Well Spent…

sunday

…Brings a week of content! I thought I would do a Sunday roundup post today, as I haven’t had a minute to take any home snaps – and I’ve been Instagrammin’ loads so you’ve probably spied everything new…

01. This week I’ve been clearing out my makeup (so many limited edition products I just can’t hoard any longer! Sob!) and generally having a spring clean. There’s no better way to clear your mind than a good clear out, and although I feel sad waving off my favourite bits and pieces, I know they’ll find a new loving home. I feel like I’ve organised our flat from top to bottom recently, and having a tidy, happy home is doing wonders for my mental state. I get things done quicker, have more time to relax and just generally feel like a better person.

02. Jordan and I went to Edinburgh on Friday for a serious shopping tripΒ – we have a wedding coming up so we’ve been trying to find suits and dresses for that, and we both needed to update our wardrobes for summer. I’ve been trying to fill my wardrobe with staple pieces that I won’t get bored of, and pieces that won’t go out of style, any time soon. I bought so much; block coloured tops, easy to style skirts, lots of lovely rose gold jewellery and some cute spring jackets. I’m definitely going to work on filling my wardrobe with items that I can get a lot of wear out of, rather than seasonal pieces that are on trend for a few weeks.

03. Ever since I got the Steps+ App on my phone, I’ve been so up for getting out more! I love this App, it really gives you an insight in to how much you move, and you can track the week and work out when you need to make an effort. Yesterday we had an intense game of Wii Tennis in the morning and I woke up today and my right arm feels like lead, who knew I was such an aggressive player?! I recommend getting a game of this on the go if you own a Wii, it’s so much fun!

04. Today Jordan is out most of the day so I’m spending the time prepping meals for the week, lazing in the bath and putting face and hair masks on. That is the dream on a Sunday, am I right? I bought an ice cream maker recently, so I’ve been experimenting with sugar-free coconut milk concoctions. It’s been fun, lemme tell ya. I also have a huge ASOS order being delivered, so that should keep me occupied for some time…

What little Sunday updates have you guys got for me this week?

  • Kate you don’t know how much I fell in love with your blog and your style. Ah, been browsing on it everyday now! Have a lovely sunday!

  • Martha Stoneham

That make up organiser is brilliant πŸ™‚ I agree with your words about clothes as well, I am also aiming to have a sort out and only buy new items that I can wear with lots of things and are not going to go off trend.

  • I love your makeup storage, though, being very anal, I really want those shades to go from light-to-dark :3

  • That is such a great way to organise make-up.

  • Love your make-up organiser! Looks so pretty and tidy.

  • That sounds like a great week! I’ve just had a normal week of lectures really, and revision is fully underway with exams coming up πŸ˜›

  • Totally know what you mean when you say organising your home improves your mental state. It’s the most frustrating thing, being unable to find your belongings (especially in our’s, which is pretty dainty and, truth be told, we have a million things we probably don’t need. Definitely need a Spring clean/ sort out)

I’m also on a hunt for timeless, staple pieces for my wardrobe! I find it’s better to spend more on a piece that will last and last, that you can pair up with your seasonal Primark buys. Purchase number one is definitely going to be a tan handbag and some nude ballet pumps!

  • Ice cream maker? you jammy mare! x

  • Totally agree with a clear out – I’ve just set myself a list to stick to and I’ve ticked off 80% in two hours, procrastination is a killer but it helps to stop straying onto social media.

Now I’ve got videos to film and hopefully time to relax which is awesome as I’m always so distracted!

I am doing spring cleaning myself too!

  • Oh my gosh I am so jealous you got an icecream maker! Mmmmm, now I’m craving some ice cold goodness.

I’m also waiting for an ASOS order, hopefully it will arrive soon, I always look forward to parcels, it’s just like unwrapping a Christmas present (except you already know whats inside).

I love Spring Cleaning my makeup & skincare – although it can be so hard to part with products even though you know you can’t possibly use everything. I enjoy passing things on to friends & family and knowing that they will get used.

  • A good clear out is always lovely and it reminds me to do some cleaning too and I love spending my Sundays being productive.

I’ve been having mega clear outs over the last few weeks and it’s been so therapeutic! I love everything looking all tidy and organised. I’m also trying to stick to a one in, one out method for ALL my stuff; clothes, beauty, tea, if I want something new I have to use up or get rid of something else first! So far, so good!

  • I am a big fan of a good ol’ clear out. I have recently sorted all my make up out and got rid of all my old products. I need to sort my wardrobe out for the Summer.

I truly need to have a good clear out, I usually start.. But then end up keeping everything! xx

  • What do you DO with all the products you get rid of?! I can’t bare the thought of throwing things like that away!!!

  • I should also have a clear out! Some products are really old, so I think it’s better if I throw them away!

Clearing out makeup is great. I think we tend to hoard so many products that we don’t use or are long expired so it’s great to sort the stash out πŸ™‚
