Inspiration Interiors

New Workspace Inspiration.

workspace1

workspace1

For some reason I’ve had a bit of a struggle getting my workspace just right – I’m trying to find the balance between ‘I actually work here’ and ‘I need a nice tidy zone to work in’. I’ve decided that I definitely need more surfaces and also a few more soft furnishings.

At the moment my workspace is very white (walls, floors furniture – see the tour here), which I like as I use it as a studio so it needs to have lots of light. I have a lot of colourful items, so it balances it out – but I would like a few more dashes of colour. I quite like the idea of one wallpapered or painted wall (like the above – source), it could work well as a photo backdrop – but I’m not completely sold on the idea.

In the end I went for a much longer desk, so I can have on it my iMac, room for storage, my printer etc. and also have space for working at and using my sewing machine. I like the desk here (source), it’s got a lot going on but it still feels super clean – I don’t like the idea of a monochrome room though, I need colour!

workspace2

I’ll definitely be going for a more gold, pastel, metallic vibe like on the left (source), it looks so pretty! I’ve decided to get rid of my Expedit shelves because they take up too much room, so I think I’ll go for high bookshelves instead – we shall see!

I’m enjoying the planning stages far too much, but I can’t wait to have a longer desk! And better storage!

What do you think of my office planning?

I love the bottom left desk, it’s exactly what I want too. One side for the boyfriend, the other end for me and my crafting. We have high shelves up to the ceiling on the wall I want so I’m hoping it will look mint.

  • I can only say that I love these kind of posts. Your taste and mine are SO similar! I also need to plan how I would want my flat to look like so keep these posts coming. Unfortunately I will not have a ton of space so how will I fit everything there whilst being tidy, organised, and pretty? What a task!

    • Ah lovely to hear! I kind of wish I was one of those people that needed only a small desk because all the tiiny little workspaces are so pretty. Alas, I need an entire room because I take up so much space πŸ˜‰ x

Thanks for the inspiration! I love how simple headed it is! And I can only agree to @aliceyeh:disqus , I would love to see more of these posts! Have a great one! (: x

  • I think you do home posts absolutely perfect. We have a very similar style! Unfortunately I don’t have the space for a full work place, but I’m hoping soon to get some ikea bits to change my room!

  • Workspaces are my favourite interior to lust after and are so motivating. I love your taste, it’s near identical to mine!

  • I love all of these images, the top one is probably my favourite. I’m a big fan of very white interiors but like you, I do need a bit of colour in them! I tend to do this by adding in some wooden elements. An all white room with a wooden desk and then one or two colours for everything else is my dream workspace!

Always love your Home posts. Your posts are so inspiring and helpful. I can’t wait for the end product! πŸ™‚
I have been having a wee bit of problem getting my workspace right as well. As my new place is rather small, I have to cram my workspace and vanity table into one. In the end, I have to custom make my worktop/vanity/storage area because it was just getting impossible to find the right pieces that actually fit. >_<

  • You have such a lovely style for your home πŸ™‚

  • I love your workspace the way it is now, but I can understand why you need more space for organizing stuff. I have got a simple desk by Ikea at the moment and I love it!

I’m sure I’ve pinned half of these before πŸ˜‰ definitely love the minimal look for a clear head if you’re working. Gotta fit in a metallic pineapple if you’re gonna go for those subtle touches though heh. Really love the line with the bulldog clips on the first image, perhaps you could find a wall decal and add clips for inspiration boards?

  • I love your all white look, and a wallpapered wall would look fab against your office area!
