As someone who doesn’t usually embrace the golden glow, I am a little wary of bronzer in all shapes and sizes. I’ve been testing and trialling Hoola these past few weeks or so and, surprisingly… I’m hooked.
I always expect bronzers to be quite orange and daunting, but Benefit Hoola Bronzer (£23.50) is actually a lovely bronze hue. The packaging is beautiful too, I love the simple design – it makes a big difference to my makeup table. Can I write that in a review? I’m unsure.
I was instantly, I guess a little… shocked at how well this applied when I first put brush to skin. I guess I expected it to be quite cakey and orange but the warm tones were effortless once applied, I didn’t need to blend for hours to achieve an even result and the powder itself wasn’t too dark so I had a very subtle warmth to the skin.
I would say that bronzer is the hardest makeup item to get in to, I have always wanted to be able to add a touch of colour to my skin but it’s always felt like I couldn’t quite manage it. Hoola really delivers on the ease of application, the powder is so velvety that I feel like the texture of my skin improves after lightly washing this all over my complexion.
I use a large, fluffy brush to dust Hoola over my skin – it takes almost no blending at all and I have gorgeous glow that isn’t orange or obvious. I tend to just apply this over the top of my forehead, over my cheeks and chin a little and then blend out. The powder makes for such even application so you never feel worried of how it will turn out in the end.
All in all, a life changing bronzer that has made a massive difference to my routine!
