Another Sunday post for y’all, I feel like I do these so often but they’re always the best ones. This week I had so many products I wanted to include but I have a haul video coming this week so I want to tell you about them then – I managed to squeeze in two anyway though. Eep.
I had a little bit of an Oribe splurge recently but I have to say they’re my favourite hair brand; the Oribe Maximista Thickening Spray is a blow-dry spray that is applied to damp here to increase body and volume. A few spritzes will thermal protect and allow for the maximum volume possible – I have used many, many sprays like this in my time as I have such flat, soft hair that is very hard to do anything with, but this is hands down the best I’ve tried. I was actually a bit like “oh wow” after I had used it because I turned my head upside down and blow dried my hair that way and the results were incredible. Definitely a product for those who like body and lift!
Another hair product I’ve been feeling lately is this Unite 7 Seconds Conditioner which is a detangling mist that again, you spray on to damp hair to lock in colour and detangle. I’ve mentioned before that my hair is just a nightmare, especially after toning it or if I’ve used a clarifying shampoo and so getting the brush through it is just impossible. This has been a lifesaver and I’m so so glad I purchased it (after a lot of persuading from Twitter!) – it smells like the old Herbal Essences too. I sometimes give my ends a quick spritz on day two of no-hairwashing to revive my ends a little but I don’t really use it on my roots.
As for makeup, I’ve clearly been relying on a glow lately if these choices are anything to go by. I dug out my much loved BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal again this week and I forgot how amazing it is for minimising imperfections, it gives skin that soft glow kind of focus so everything is brightened and spots, scars and redness are dulled so makeup is just flawless. Similarly, the MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Lightscapade does the same sort of thing, it’s a very fine powder that adds a touch of radiance. I bought this as a highlighter but it’s so subtle that it doesn’t really have an effect that way. I definitely recommend swirling it all over skin for a lovely soft glow.
Finally, I’ve mentioned before how much I love the Kiehl’s Over-Night Biological Peel but it has become a staple of mine recently. I usually mix it in with a bit of face oil and the result is very smooth, healthy skin. It’s not harsh and it’s easy to apply as it comes as a serum rather than a fluid – I usually apply it a couple of times a week for a noticeable more even complexion.
Have you tried any of these picks?
