This Week’s Most Loved… #24.
Another week has rolled around and I’ve been trialling and loving a few new things lately, most of the products mentioned here have never been seen on ghostparties which is always fun. Each of these five products have been shaping my look this week and I’m excited to share them with you.
To start with, I’ll talk about a new shampoo I’ve added in to my routine by one of my most used brands, Phyto. Phyto PhytoPanama shampoo is aimed at more oily hairtypes, ever since I’ve got my fringe cut in I’ve been washing my hair daily – now this is okay with me, I like my hair to feel clean and I think it looks better when it’s been washed. My ends usually look a little dry on the second day so I’d rather just have clean, shiny hair. However, it’s been getting more oily (mainly just my fringe) throughout the day so I thought it was time I got myself a shampoo which aims to help any excess sebum. This is more thin than a shampoo, it can be hard to use in the shower because it’s more like water than shampoo but so far it’s been helping my hair to look clean and shiny throughout the day and in to the next. I’ll have a full review on this when I’ve given it more of a chance, but so far it’s impressed me.
Another hair product I adore (and have mentioned quite a few times, I think it appeared in one of my first ever Sunday posts) is the Oribe Dry Texturising Spray. I take this everywhere with me so I always repurchase the smaller 75ml sizes, but they do do a bigger can. I adore this for adding texture in to my otherwise fine hair, washing my hair daily means it’s always shiny and can be hard to manage, but a few sprays of this and I’m good to go. It’s perfect for anyone who wants a little bit of volume and “dirt” to their hair, I don’t use many other products in my hair at the moment because they seem to just weigh it down, but I use Oribe Dry Texturising Spray every day. It’s like a dry shampoo but doesn’t leave sticky residue in your hair and there’s no grey dust.
This week has seen the introduction of a new moisture mask, the Dr Jart Water-Max Sleeping Mask *. I’m a little picky when it comes to moisture masks, anything too scented or rich will break me out (like Origins Drink Up Intensive, sadly) but this lightweight, hydrating number from Dr Jart has met my high standards and raised the bar for my other moisture masks. After one use, my skin feels so soft and really hydrated. I adore this as it’s not too scented and doesn’t feel heavy or sticky on my skin. Dr Jart have really impressed me with their range so I’m looking forward to trying a few more bits.
On to makeup, I thought it was about time to mention a base I added to my stash over a month ago! The Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer is a thick foundation and concealer in one, it took me a while to get it to work for me as it’s really so heavy. I wouldn’t recommend using this as a foundation, even as a concealer it looks to caked and full. I first mixed a small amount of this in with my moisturiser and I liked that a lot, but then I tried mixing a very small amount in with an illuminating primer, such as BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector. It creates a really flawless base that I adore. I’ll be post more about this at some point this week so hang tight!
Lastly, there’s been a new “go to” lipstick added to my stash in the form of the new Bourjois Rouge Edition in 03 Peche Cosy *, a lovely soft pastel orange/pink. I love this for day time wear, it’s easy to apply and the colour is just beautiful, I have actually had a few compliments on this which never happens. For the full range of shades on, see Laura’s post.
A bit of a long one this week but boy, have I discovered some great products this week! What do you think of this weeks most reached for?
