Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask.

Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask – £28 *
Up until recently I thought moisture masks weren’t a necessary step for me, I don’t have dry skin and I never feel like my skin needs any sort of rich moisturising products. How wrong I was. The first mask I tried was Origins Drink Up overnight mask, now we all know I’m a big fan of Origins and gaahhhdamn I love the smell of this but it broke me out something special and I put it down to the product being too rich. Nevertheless, I few months later I give this Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask a whirl and I’m hooked.

If anyone has ever tried the original pot of Moisture Surge, you’ll know it’s quite a gel-like consistency and they’ve used this in the mask version too – it’s somewhere between a gel and a cream so it’s plenty hydrating without the rich formula. I usually use a moisture mask after I’ve used a detoxing (usually clay) mask and/or a peel, so my skin has been thoroughly purified and is ready for a big helping of moisture. This routine makes aallll the difference to my skin and my favourite thing about this mask is that you just apply it like a moisturiser (although I tend to apply it like a mask, leave and then rub in before sleep) and leave it overnight. Most moisture masks I’ve used have to be cleaned off before sleep which is a little too much work for old lazy bones over here.

For me, I noticed a difference after one use – despite my skin not being in any way dry. My skin felt incredibly smooth and a lot more plump and bright, too. I use this once a week (sometimes twice) and always after a peel mask or exfoliation, it’s not too heavy or scented so I never break out and my skin is looking a lot healthier for it. If you do have a combination or oily skin type, do give moisture masks a chance as it’s likely to make a difference.

What do you think of moisture masks?

Sounds nice! I recently bought The Body Shop’s Vitamin E Moisture Mask and now I’m converted, they’re really good x

My skin is dehydrated pretty much all the time so I would probably love this! Will definitely check it out.

I’m not sure about this product, I’ve never really needed a super moisturising cream before! I am really interested in Clinique’s Even Better Dark Spot Corrector, though… something I’ve always wanted to try out!

I’ve found this a few weeks ago and gave it a try because I love the Moisture Surge Gel of Clinique and I love it too (I got oily skin but in my opinion my spots are getting less since I’m using hydrating products)! 🙂

I’ve never used this mask before, however, I do get incredibly dry skin so I may give this a go! x

Really intrigued by these overnight masks – really want to try one! Price point doesn’t seem too sad either for a high end product.xx

I really want to try this now. I usually hate moisturisers so maybe this is the solution. I love Clinique’s packaging, it looks like it would make your skin good just by looking at it! How do they do that?

I’ve never really considered an over night mask but I do love all the cliques products I have ever tried so I think this might be a good place for me to start.

This is actually the only moisture mask I’ve tried, and I like it! I’ve used the moisture surge moisturizer before, and it’s nice too. In fact, I keep it around for sunburns. If I ever get burned at the beach, I’ll slather on the moisturizer to keep from peeling. It works!

I’ve just added this to my ‘to buy’ list as I had the same problem as you with Origins Drink Up Intensive but I love moisture masks and how they make my skin look and feel. Clinique’s a brand I’ve spent a lot of time/money on and have only recently stopped using all of their skincare products but I think this would be a nice addition to my routine!

  • Rachelle

I have combination skin and i’m always wary of using really mosturising products on my face as they give me really bad breakouts but this sounds really lovely. I might have to give it a try 🙂

I would love to try this out, but I can’t find it in the German Clinique Online Shop! 🙁 Do you know if it’s already available somewhere else on “the continent”? 🙂

    • Kate

I easily break out too which things that are too strong or rich – currently nursing an erruption of chin volcanoes as we speak :'(

  • i love the idea of moisture masks 🙂

  • I just got a sample of the Origins Overnight Mask, I tried it last night and today I woke up with a HUGE bump on my cheek, almost like a cyst under the skin. And it hurt and was pretty red. I don’t know if I should blame the mask for this, but I never had such thing before. And now I read that it seemed to be too rich for you, too. I might try the clinique one next 😉
